Our second stay at the Ria Park and my wife, daughters and myself enjoyed it tremendously once again. Comfortable rooms, great swimming pool, first class breakfast, super well equipped gym, great views, helpful staff and much more. Only one tiny thing lacking and that would be a coffee machine in the room.

Top notch
Very nice, high-end hotel nestled in a tranquil upscale area with quiet surroundings. Impeccable quality all the way from check-in to room to dinner and breakfast. It's worth the stay if ever you're in the Almancil area of The Algarve.

We booked this as a last minute & weren’t sure what to expect. We rally liked the Ria Park, it was immaculately clean, breakfast was fresh and delicious with a great choice of food. The shuttle to the beach was excellent and always available. Given it was late July the were always beds at the pool and the hotel never felt crowded. Very peaceful. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely return.

Clean spacious relaxed- really excellent swimming pool very well maintained. We dined in the restaurant 3 times- the food was very good. The service professional. Breakfast was a high standard and a wide choice. We used the adequate gym and booked massages.The grounds were pretty. Our room was perfect for the price and maidservice was excellent. My biggest gripe was lack of atmosphere in the evening. British cover songs ( Yes we can tell) don’t work. There was a pianist playing non atmospheric music a couple of times. I’ve come to Portugal and would prefer to hear Portuguese traditional music as a backdrop, and in the evening more of the same, or some background jazz suitable for the cocktail bar. It’s dead in the evening and I couldn’t see much being done about it. Happy hour? Canapés/ lanterns and candle light/ more sophisticated music/ better house wine…it’s not hard. Wine tasting evenings for an hour with local cheeses? A show if traditional Portuguese snacks? You might fill your restaurant more on the back of it? Anyway just ideas from my travels all over the world. I did have a good week overall many thanks. Ps- the shop which could be a goldmine selling traditional baskets pottery and Portuguese wares was pretty empty. I bought a glass bead bracelet from a choice of just 7. So now there are 6. Baffling. What a waste!

Excellent facilities, staff very helpful. Close to beach but need to take the shuttle bus to go down to the beach about 5 mins journey. Only downside is that you have to pay to hire the hotels sun beds for half a day/ full day which is an unnecessary expense.

Service was good. Breakfast was the only downfall. The food was cold for the 3 days we were there and for a 5* hotel I would have expected better. Good from the restaurant however was fantastic and the front desk were very accommodating and lovely.

Nice setting but overrated star ranking
Ria Park boosts 5-stars, however, this is far from true in an international comparison, more like 3.5-4 stars. It has a a nice setting, with a lovely pool area and guests also have a private beach access, with friendly staff, within a short walking distance or shuttle service. However, many small items were quite bothersome; e.g. the keycard system was very sensitive and I had to revalidate the door card once or even twice per day. None of the maids spoke English and they were quite late in the day with cleaning service and one day I had to ask for this at 4pm. The fire alarm was activated once, however, there was no follow up message to hotel guests as it was a false alarm. The outdoor breakfast area was full of wasps, and despite complaints, the staff seemed to ignore this. The hotel bar area was uninviting and no music or other entertainment was offered. I was left with the feeling that the hotel management was not at all attentive to the guests wishes and remarks, and remained unresponsive.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We regret to know that your stay was not of your entire satisfaction. We take good note that you have valued our beautiful settings, as well as our swimming pool area, private beach concession and friendly staff, which are frequently praised. Regarding the small items that have bothered you, we understand your frustration with the wasps in the morning at breakfast. We have tried to lessen them by using traps and putting food in the perimeter of the hotel property, but this year there has been more wasps than usual. Like in other situations, it looks like the pandemic, namely the slowdown of economic activities, has boosted nature presence in so many different ways. Please do not interpretate not being able to respond to nature presence, as not being attentive to Guests. We did not follow up with the fire alarm situation, because it was quickly addressed by our maintenance team, and all our staff was informed that it was a false alarm, if worried Guests asked for clarification. No one asked, besides you, to be honest. Unfortunately, it is normal, in almost all countries in the world, that maids do not speak English, excluding those where English is the main official language spoken in the country. With some exemptions, that is also the case in Portugal. Lastly, we promote our hotels as relaxing and tranquil, offering a familiar and quite environment, where people can rest and unwind from their daily routine. Nevertheless, Guests have plenty of restaurants and bars with a lively nightlife in the proximity of the hotel. Our Reception is happy to help with lots of suggestions. We hope this small items will not deter you from staying again with us in the future in your next visit to the Algarve. Best regards,

Have stayed here several times as really like the quiet location close to beach and restaurants. Very clean and well maintained hotel with spacious rooms and nice pool /garden. A few very small things could improve to make a true 5* (e.g. Fresh juice and freshly cooked breakfast to order, more furniture /soft furnishings in room).

The hotel was clean and well kept. Only downside was the hot breakfast choice was not hot. The hot plates with the hot food were half covered so this is probably why the foot was not hot.

Our stay at this hotel has been absolutely excellent. We were a party of seven and were always offered to be sat together at breakfast or when we ate in the evening. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were great, cant speak highly enough of our experience at the Ria Park Hotel and Spa.
