“Will visit again”

I've booked the cheapest hotel near Faro airport and unexpectedly it was really good hotel. The staff is very nice, rooms spatial. Buffet breakfast and dinner very nice, lots of things to choose from. We were leaving at 5.30 am and still got the breakfast. We were there by car, so not sure how to get there and how far is to sea, but only 20min away from airport. If I go to Faro again that's the hotel I am going to stay in.

“A very relaxing and enjoyable stay!”

Very much enjoyed our 3 night visit to the Pinhal Do Sol hotel. The shuttle bus into Quarteira and Vilamoura in particular is a nice touch, and while the last bus back is quite early (17:15) we found that after a day at the beach or shopping you can return to the hotel, refresh yourself, then grab a taxi into town for the evening. The reception staff were always incredibly helpful, even when we missed one of the shuttle buses into Vilamoura they called to send a second one out just for us, as well as helping book taxis and mini-cruises in town. The waitresses in the restaurant were also friendly and bar service was always quick. All the Portuguese locals in town were also incredibly friendly! The food at the hotel restaurant for breakfast and dinner (both buffets) was of a decent quality and varied each day. Dinner at the hotel was more a convenience choice than anything else however, and we did enjoy the restaurants in Vilamoura more. Drinks at the hotel are very reasonably priced. Would recommend a short break to this hotel (anything from 3 days to a week) as the perfect visit.

“Good value - hire a car!”

We just got back 5th May 2011 after spending 10 days in Portugal, hotel was about the cheapest on expedia so we didn't have high expectations, staff were friendly, room was serviced everyday and was reasonably clean, spacious and well presented. The deal we got included breakfast which comparitive hotels didn't include so this wasn't a requirement (just as well as the food was fairly poor/inedible), ate at the canteen/restaurant the 1st night for convenience and never repeated the experience, basically you won't eat there unless you have to. Despite the food the hotel seemed nice enough for what we paid, felt as though we got a good deal as we could have paid more and got less.

“Pinhal do Sol - not as good as expected”

The Good 1. Free Shuttle Service to nearby beach and town. The Bad 1. Last Shuttle Service to return to hotel is very early - around 5pm. I assume they planned this so people would come back to spend money at the hotel for dinner rather than eat out and take a taxi back. 2. Staff were NOT friendly, although one of them did try her best. 3. We were in a standard room, not a deluxe. But still I expect the standard room to have a basic kettle and tea/coffee. None offered. 4. No toothpaste, not even on request. We had to buy our own in town. 5. Food at the hotel restaurant was expensive and poor quality, a lot of things like the orange juice. yogurt etc tasted very artificial. 6. Hotel swimming pool was very small. 7. Area was pretty, but very inconvenient, we had dinner at a cafe on the beach, we tried to get a taxi back but none available, we walked along the main road hoping to find a taxi, but we walked for over an hour to the nearby town before we could finally get hold of one. Very poor. 8. Bathrooms were tiny and did not look very clean. 9. TV was old tiny (14 inches?) and was mounted on the wall close to the celling so we had to look up and strain neck, only way to avoid discomfort was to literally lie flat on bed and look up. 10. They charge for keeping valuables in their safe within the room. This should be free. 11. Overall hotel was not very clean and had old looking furniture.

“Wonderful Hotel/ Holiday”

Very nice hotel, our room was cleaned everyday and had the little extras that make a difference ie kettle, fridge, iron. We stayed b&b the breakfast was great lots of choice. Lunches we ok just bar snacks really and the evening meals did the job. They had a shuttle bus 4 times a day to beach and marina (which is beautiful) loads of great places to eat and taxi back was cheap. Overall a lovely place to stay would highly recommend.

The hotel room is very basic, with a small TV (~13') and the only internet of the hotel is a shared desktop at the reception. The breakfast is good though, and it seems a nice place to rest for a couple of days

Nice hotel, friendly welcoming staff, clean tidy rooms. Its just a pity the hotel is 3 kilometres from the town and marina. There is a free shuttle bus provided for guests
