“Very nice”
Very nice hotel, rooms very comfortable. The pool area was pleasant especially in the sun in November!
“Quality hotel in restful setting”
Baia Grande is a good hotel with unobtrusive staff who are meticulous in their detail for client comfort and relaxation. Room was excellent and the restaurant buffet extremely good. It is a quiet hotel, ideal for couples who wish to relax. The shuttle service to the Gale beach and Albufeira was efficient too. Getting to the other local beaches was a short walk and there were two excellent restaurants within a 5 minute walk. This was our second visit to Baia Grande and we would go there again.
“Wonderful relaxing break”
Fantastic hotel with really friendly and hard working staff. Although we had 2 mini storms whilst there with horrendous winds, there was no evidence by the time we awoke. The whole hotel was spotless, our room was spacious with lovely views of the pool area and the sea. Our shower was the best we have ever experienced in a hotel. The room was cleaned daily by someone with a brilliant sense of humour, we couldn't wait to see what shape our beach towels were made into - swans was the favourite! Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and with a huge variety to appease even the fussiest eater. The free shuttle bus was excellent with lovely drivers and allowed us the freedom to go into town in the evening and stay however long we wanted before getting a very reasonable taxi back. There is a beautiful bay within walking distance and was very reminiscent of a small Cornish cove. Quite a sun trap with toilets and a cafe. There are 2 cafes, a shop and 2 restaurants within easy walking distance if you want a change from going into Albufeira to eat. There are more in the peak holiday times. All the hotel staff were smiley and helpful. We had an early morning flight home and were offered complimentary packed lunches because we missed breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an Albufeira holiday without the noise and bustle of the town. The only thing which would make this hotel perfect is tea and coffee facilities in the room.
“Would definitely go back again”
Although we only stayed for 3nights I would not hesitate to stay longer. The room was very comfortable and the view was good. Breakfast had a good selection
“Autumn Blues”
Great place to be in October to experience beautiful blue sky from a nice hotel and staff - will return again next year.
“not impressed”
no kettle in room shuttle stopped running to earily ,breakfast was rush nby waiter swimming hats had to be worm we had to buy them from reception only to find the pool was cold also was the hottub and others went into the pool without them 10 euro spend for no reason and no enttentment for two days
“Enjoyable stay”
We enjoyed our stay at the Baia Grande. The staff were efficient and pleasant and the breakfast was really good. The pool area could do with a bit of sprucing up but there were lots of loungers, plenty of room and the bar area was pleasant. Our room was good and the view from our balcony was really impressive. The location wasn't great and wouldn't suit anyone with mobility problems. The walk to the nearest beach was long and hilly and there were not many shops/cafes etc in the immediate vicionity. The bus services from the hotel to the Gali beach and into Albufeira were good- although one later one back from Albufeira would have been better (last one 7pm). Another good idea would be for the hotel to provide amap of the local area as towards the end of our week we discovered that if we turned left onto the main road at the top of our road it would take us to a small resort with a selection of bars and restaurants (about 10 min walk). It had looked like there was nothing along that road beyond the snackbar. We would recommend although not for anyone who didn't enjoy walking.
“Would return”
Would revisit if our room we had is available. Breakfast was not impressive staff in restaurant very impatient to clear tables.
“Would definately go back”
This was a lovely holiday for myself, husband and our 3 year old. We went in September so it was quieter than if during school holidays. We were bed and breakfast. The breakfast was ok, a bit of everything. The hotel was a shuttle bus away from the beach and Albuferia central. In the evenings the last shuttle to Albuferia is about 7pm and there isnt one back so you have to get a taxi back to the hotel which is cheap enough. It was nice spending afternoons or evenings walking along the lanes by the hotel to find restaurants to try and supermarkets to get snacks. Two supermarkets nearby - one about half an hour walk, the other about 45 minutes (when you learn the shortcuts), a lot cheaper than spending money on drinks at hotel as these were a bit of a rip off. The pools was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We will go to Albuferia again but maybe try nearer to the central.
“"Baia Grande was Brilliant"”
The Staff were Friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them always had a nice smile to give.. Breakfast had a big big choice, something for everyone...it was very good too... Cannot comment on the Lunch or Dinner as stayed B/B... Cleaniness is of the utmost Importance to me and thats what I got at this Hotel.... The only bug in the Ointment was the Courtesy Bus, not very well Organized,. Te best thing, the Weather. It was Gorgeous!!!!!

Albufeira, Portugal: The former little white fishing village of Albufeira, now densely developed beneath a sea of apartments and mid-rise blocks, is the regions most popular resort. The pretty Old Town is wall-to-wall restaurants and bars, though some local establishments and residential areas still remain. Its picture-postcard Fishermans Beach, with spectacular ochre cliffs and rock stacks, remains an iconic, albeit often very crowded, Algarve sight.
