Nice property, nice beach, next to great resaurants. Hotel parking was closed but it was easy to find safe parking around the corner (maybe noit easy if ti had been during high season)

Perfect location
Lovely stay and perfect location. However, I find airport transfer to be quite expensive at €48 for early morning pick up(4am) compared to our stay at Albufeira which was €45 for same time pick up.Also,there must be a miscommunication between hotel staff and driver because what was supposed to be a 4am pick up was noted as 4.30am by driver. Luckily, we were just in time for our flight!

1.The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was self services with a good selection of hot or cold food. The staff were friendly and polite. The location of the hotel was excellent, within easy walking distance to the beach and sea front cafes and bars.

Pros - Good beachfront location Clean Nice breakfast buffet Cons - Unhelpful, unfriendly reception staff Small, cramped, crowded pool area Charges for beach sun loungers, umbrellas and towels (which I already complained to hotels.com about as this was not mentioned on their website. They said they would make a note of it in the hotel details but I notice that it still hasn't been updated.) This is not a cheap hotel, and to charge guests additional fees to use the amenities (which may or may not be available as they also rent sun loungers to the public) seems outrageous.

We do have information on our website that we rent the parasols and sunbeds on the beach because it is not a private beach, we have its concession during high season. We are not an all inclusive hotel so other services can be charged. Regards

The property is right on the beach. The umbrella/chair rental on the beach is a tad bit expensive 13 Euros for the day, would expect something more in line with line 5 Euros for what you getting. The hotel is older and is in need of some updates /upkeep. but in all, we would absolutely stay there again. Its a great location.

Nice and clean the facility and very peaceful. You can walk along the beach for shopping. Services is good and the food is so yummy. But some staff is not approachable and didn’t speak English. Thank you for a 5 days stay in Dom Jose Beach Hotel

We enjoyed our stay, the pool was a great amenity. However, the AC did not work well, the area is a bit run down. Overall, we had a great time but the hotel is overly rated and priced. Better places to stay and visit in the Algarve.

Great experience at DJH, I would give this more than 3 Stars hotel. Excellent location, very friendly staff that went out of their way to accommodate us and our dietary requirements. Spacious room, clean and great choice/verity of food available. Overall excellent experience.

I and my family stayed there last year and was fine, with a good service. This time, the team at the evening in the reception was indifferent, very cold and unfriendly. My benefits as a Expidia Gold member was a inconvenience for the hotel.

It is a 3 star hotel, so it was as expected. Overall, it was clean but our room had an ant infestation (which was cleaned upon request, but they did return) even though we were on a high floor. The room was small but otherwise exactly as listed. The view from balcony was lovely and location was excellent with the boardwalk right ahead. Beach lounges and umbrella are only available on purchase on a first come basis. There is no food available between meal times, so be prepared. We weren't informed, although we arrived half an hour before the end of a meal time and by the time we ordered, they said there is no cooking staff. Warning would have been nice. But there is lots of restaurants on the boardwalk. Staff are polite but not at all attentive, especially at the bar. Perhaps they need to hire more staff. You also need to book the gym in advance. The massage partners never got back to us for a booking. Overall, the stay was fine and as expected for a 3 star stay. If you are looking for more exceptional service, there are other hotels but if these issues won't bother you, then it would be a lovely stay.

It was my mother's 80 th birthday and the reception staff made us to feel worthless, specially a female staff in the evening. They didn't show any empathy and were effortless to help a Expidia Gold customer.

Booked last min (same day) and only a superior room was available. It was huge and absolutely fantastic!!! Would have happily paid more to get a sea view. The whole hotel was immaculate, every area so clean

Location was fantastic. Right on the beach. Front desk employees were not friendly or helpful. Bathroom was incredibly small .. Bathroom sink was so close to the toilet you can barely sit down

If you like being next to the ocean, its perfect. Our room was small but liveable but faced away from the ocean. Dinners are not cheap and unfortunately may not live up to portugese culinary standards. It seems popular with older brits. We were there two days and that was enough.

Great location, right on the beach. Pool area was nice and clean. Breakfast buffet was very good. Staff friendly and very helpful. You have to ask for more coffee if you want it in your room, they don't automatically refill when they clean. You have to pay for towels at the pool if you don't bring your own. Would definitely stay here again. Restaurants within walking distance. Take an Urber from the airport if you do not have a car.
