Cosy

Posted 21-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
I had a 2 night stay, the room was a good size and very cosy, I turned the heater off one night. The shower had a good pressure and was warm straight away (was also nice to have a preset temperature dial and not have to mess around with mixer taps). The bed was very very comfortable, I had no trouble getting to sleep as it was quiet too. I didnt eat in the hotel this stay but gorged at the Brewers Fayre across the road. The wifi connection was solid and fair (would lag a bit for Facetime). The room had plenty of power outlets and lamps, the television was an old cathode ray type and only had a few channels but the signal for them was fine.

Very nice hotel

Posted 19-Jan-2015
Pros: made to feel very welcome, breakfasts have a very wide range of choice and hotel is dog friendly.
Cons: some bookings are room only on expedia. b'fast £10 if booked at hotel. Expedia charge £14.95!
Location: business trip so no local activities but Mcaruthur glen shopping mall less than 1 mile away.
Great hotel -clean, comfortable and easy access from M1. Good sports facilities. Dog friendly adn staff very helpful and accommodating.

Enjoyed the stay

Posted 18-Jan-2015
Pros: Easy to access, large number of rooms so isn't continually full like the smaller inns in Derby, staff friendly
Location: Not much ... brewsters fayre across the street for buffet and some food and drinks.
Enjoyed the stay but food not quite to my liking (little different fare in Canada) and didn't see much else around the area at night. Weather though was nasty and could hear the wind throughout the night rattling windows and drafty.

Not going back

Posted 15-Dec-2014 on Hotels.com
Not impressed. We decided to eat at the hotel restaurant booked our table on arrival. Ordered our meal the restaurant was freezing apparently the air con was stuck on full on cold eventually someone brought in a small electric heater not suitable to heat a room that size. The starter arrived and had be sent back it was cold, the main course was haddock and chips the haddock was mostly batter very tiny piece of fish. We have stayed and eaten here before several times but never has the standard been so low will definately not being going back try the Dakota its better.

Over-priced

Posted 25-Nov-2014 on Hotels.com
If you are looking for a convenient hotel next to the M1 then probably the Premier Inn down the road is better value. The food is ridiculously overpriced in my opinion and the area is a bit soulless. Ws expectuing a very modern-looking room but found it cluttered and the bed wasn't great. Too springy! For a one-night stop it was Ok, but nothing more.
