Great place to stay in Alexandria. The location is right off King Street - very close to shopping and restaurants - all within easy walking distance. Room was comfortable. Afternoon wine and snack is a nice touch.
My wife and I stayed here for five nights while taking in the sights in Washington DC, and Alexandria. The Hotel was spacious, accommodating, and very clean. The staff was excellent. Very courteous, professional, and helpful in every way. The restaurant and dining was very enjoyable. I found the coldest beer in Alexandria right there in the dining room.
This place is very convenient for the Metro and trolleys. I highly recommend the Hilton Inn Garden Resort to anyone interested in a fine Hotel experience.

This is a terrific place to stay for families. The rooms with the king size bed have a separate room with a doubly pull out couch, a microwave, fridge and each room has flat screen TV. The King bed is exceedingly comfortable and the maids do a terrific job cleaning up after kids. The hotel offers a free happy hour from 5-7 pm (possibly even later) and has an extensive offerings for breakfast including omelets and eggs cooked to order, pancakes and bacon, a variety of cereals and fresh fruit, yogurt & oatmeal. Directly across the street is the King St. Metro station and a Free Trolley that runs up and down King St. until at least 10 pm. Laundry machines are on the 2nd floor, a more than decent inside pool on the 3rd floor and to round it out, terrific staff. If you do not need in and out privileges for your car, do not use parking through the hotel. You can use the same lot next door to the hotel for $19 every 24 hrs. But if you need to go in and out during your stay, the hotel parking is $28 for every 24 hrs.
Eminently walkable, Old Town Alexandria offers a glimpse of early America through its 4,000 historic homes and businesses. Many visitors begin their tour at the Ramsey House Visitors Center, near the center of Old Town. One highlight is The Athenaeum art gallery, a Greek Revival structure where legendary Civil War Gen. Robert E. Lee once banked. Don’t miss Mount Vernon, George Washington’s estate.
