“A Lovely Rural Australian Experience”

I doubt that many Americans such as myself get a chance to experience this type of authentic rural Australian family vacation motel, and for me it was a real treat. I rented a car and drove from Sydney and Melbourne and back, and this was one of my stops in mid route. It is situated right on Lake Hume, next to a tourist camping area, but it has a full service restaurant and bar, and the food is very good. The motel-type room was adequate, and the surroundings were charming. It was great to get out in the country for a few days between stays in Sydney and Melbourne. This is not a high-end luxury resort, but it has a country charm that can't be beat, and the staff is eager to please.

“Would Go Back”

This hotel is in a complex and we had a 3 bedroom cabin with full cooking facilities. The staff were friendly and if they couldn't answer a question they knew who we should contact to ask. It is about 10 minutes out of town but with a car we didn't have any problem. It would be great to go back to in the summer as you would be able to make use of their pool etc.

“What a wonderful overnight stay”

Fantastic place to stay we spent the night in the 3 bedroom cottage it was wonderful. Sat and ate dinner and breakfast on the verandah and watched the peacocks wander by with their baby chicks. if you have kids this is the place to stay, already sorting out our next booking to go back in march 10 out of 10

“Expected more”

It didn't deliver what we were expecting. It's not very close to town, the spa was inactive and the restaurant served simple food for a big price! But it's not a bad hotel, It's clean, has wonderful views of the lake and mountains and has lots of entertainment for kids, it's just that overall it didn't keep up with the marketing.

“Disapointing hotel for the money.”

When we arrived there was lots of people drinking and partying ourside our room, the breakfast was well 'BELOW' average. Outdated decor and features.

“Not a MEL/SYD drive stopover”

We were looking for a place for overnight stay on a way from Mel to Syd. The hotel is 10-15 minutes from Hume H/W and because of that is not suitable as a place to break a drive. It is located in picturesque surroundings and if we had few days we would probably enjoy it a bit more. We stayed in Heritage (read - old, shabby, neglected) Cottage. It had plenty of room for a medium size family but was lacking basic amenities like ensuite, the toilet was in the opposite side of the house, the decor was dated and unless you enjoy that type of accommodation the shower over 50 y.o. bath tub with scratched enamel wouldn’t make you feel happy in the morning. The included breakfast deserves special mentioning - it is very basic. A couple of serials, a yoghurt and toasted bread. A choice of ether dreadful coffee or equally bad tea. That’s all. The hotel staff was very helpful. We arrived closer to midnight and there was an envelope with the keys waiting for us. And we were shown the way to our accommodation because in the middle of the night it was not immediately apparent where the cottage 18 was.
