“Will possibly go back, if we get a room "without toilet trouble".”
The room was nice, very clean and comfortable, but the toilet kept getting backed up. Spent a lot of time waiting for maitenance man to fix the problem, which did'nt make us too happy! Breakfast was ok, could've been better.
“very convenient to the airport”
we stay there whenever we are traveling out of the sunport. It is very convenient to the airport and a great value when you are only staying one night.
“Nice”
Overall, very nice place. Room was very nice and clean. Bed super comfy. Nice flat screen tv. Shower was not the greatest spray or the warmest water but not bad. Not a big breakfast fan but seemed to have a nice breakfast (cereal, waffles, biscuits/gravy, eggs) didnt see sausage or bacon. Shuttle was hit/miss. Prompt airport pick up curbside, but then went out to dinner, and was dropped off 2 blocks away from intended place. Also no mention that its only a 5 person van. Had to wait awhile before dinner, while it made multiple trips for a larger group. Would stay here again but would not count on the shuttle. Very close to airport and University!! Worked well for me when I had a conference at the University Hospital.
“OK for an overnight”
Mixup in reservation resulted in my being given a smoking room when I had specified non-smoking and my written confirmation stated that. However, that was resolved. Disappointed in that there is no dining room, but the hotel shuttle will take passengers to a nearby restaurant

The room was clean and bed very comfortable - pillow was comfortable too. The Breakfast was good, they use to put ham in the eggs and they did not have that when I stayed this time - I wish they had the eggs and ham.
“charged twice for stay”
the room smelled, the buffet lack sasuage or bacon not sure if this was cause it was a saturday and not the weekday business. my main is i paid with expedia prior to my stay but for some reason the billed me on my credit and that it would be taken off in a few days no problem till my credit card was denied at taco bell. So if you on a budget beware of this practice. Other than these three things it was ok for its price range.
“Not impressed”
The complimentary breakfast was somewhat predictable and bland. The quality of the food was unsatisfactory. It was very lackluster. The rooms were clean and orderly however, the TV did not work, the condition of the bathrooms were unsatisfactory. The clientele was very undesirable. The hotel needed upgrading. Would never stay there again. Bad experience.
“Relaxing in ABQ”
We had a good night to relax and enjoy Mexican food on our way through New Mexico. The hotel was close to the freeway and had a nice breakfast. It was disapointing to some that the pool was under construction.
“Not Impressed”
I have stayed at many Hawthorn Hotels and this one is in need of maintenance and repair. The rooms were very small - they only provided 2 towels - and even after requesting additional ones for the next day - they were not provided. Staff is not very friendly and not what I am used to. Asked to speak with manager on several occasions and was told managers are not available. Also there was an obviously homeless person hanging out in the breakfast area. After mentioning to staff - they did not seem to care or could answer why he was there and left there. I am all for helping those who are less fortunate but this was not a very secure situation.
“Better than expected by far”
This hotel may be marked below a 3 rating but the facility is very clean, organized, and friendly. The staff provides 5 star service in my book and the beds and pillows are extra cushy. We stayed at a higher rated hotel in the same week but found it sadly mediocre in comparison to its reviews by locals. I would stay here any time for its family friendliness, convenient location, and quiet area. This hotel does provide good breakfast and is close to many restaurants and even right off I-25.
