Extremely happy with this hotel stay. Clean room, very nice staff and ample parking. Located in very safe area and close to Stuyvesant Plaza, a local place with shops and eateries. Although this hotel not rated high by professional star index, when it comes to users it's better than five stars.

“Only a short drive away from downtown Albany”

We arrived before noon and they still let us check in, which was wonderful after a 5 hour drive. From the moment we arrived until we checked out the staff could not do enough for us. The room was extremely quiet even thou it was right next to the elevator (how convenient) A plus is that the radio was iPod compatible. Not all hotels have these, but for me that is a big plus as I do not watch TV. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Big bathroom, microwave and refrig. Another plus! The indoor pool area was very clean as we used it both days we were there. A great shopping center across the street, and a 99 restaurant almost right next door. We got in on the free breakfast at the hotel Sunday morning and it had just about everything you could think of and when I asked the staff for some ice for my coffee, the girl was so nice about it. I can not say enough about this hotel and their staff. I told them that when I get back home this is one hotel that I will write a glowing review on. I will stay there the next time I am back in the area.

“Excellent Customer Service”

This was a hasty booking when our original accomadation was cancelled due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Irene. On arriving we were shown to our room which was a little small for our party of 4 adults. On making our views known we were immediately shown a different room and asked if it was more suitable (which it was) and arrangements made for us to transfer. As it was in the smoking area, staff took steps to reduce the smell of tobacco and provided more fresh bedding even though this was not necessary. During the power outtage caused by the Hurricance, guests were still provided with a more than adequate cold breakfast, issued with flashlights and spoken to regularly by staff. Throughout the course of our stay the outstanding customer service was a constant theme. Take a bow all of you, especially Richard. Well done!

I normally travel to Albany twice a year to visit my son and I've always stayed in another local hotel. This was actually my first time staying at this Holiday Inn Express and I was glad that I did. I was greeted by a very pleasant concierge. Our room was comfortable; pillows were great. We also enjoyed the indoor pool area. Overall, a great place to stay.

“Holiday Inn Express - SUNY Albany = Great Choice!”

We were seeing a concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center and needed a hotel. While this one is a little far (30 miles) from the venue, the hotel itself was excellent. Clean, friendly, safe, nice and completely able to handle the large volume of people staying there. Sunday am breakfast was the standard, good Holiday Inn Express meal however I was impressed that the large crowd never seemed to overwhelm the staff. Good Job. Other highlights are the nice patio with a BBQ and lounge chairs, ample parking, a few restaurants nearby (Five Guys, TGI Fridays, PIzza, etc...). If you are a runner, a quick jog down Western Ave takes you to the SUNY Albany campus where there is a 5K course laid out for you. Excellent stay!!!!

The staff was extremely pleasant, from the front desk to housekeeping. The breakfast was very good, considering it's not a restaurant but just a breakfast buffet. A great place to stay in Albany, very near U. Albany. TGI Fridays is down the road serves great moderately priced meals.

We booked the trip as a winter getaway ... my daughter had been begging to go swimming and shopping and this hotel, with it's location and amenities, offered both. From check-in to check-out the stay was wonderful. The room was clean, the pool water was warm, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was great. There is shopping nearby (Stuyvesent Plaza / Crossgates Mall) and eateries as well. We are already planning a return trip!
