“nice place to stay!”

I've stayed here many times and have always had a good experiance. It's just off the main food and shopping strip and past the end of the airport runway where we like to stop and watch the planes take off. It is also a quiet location which is always important.

What to pack

This is the first hotel I've been to in many years that did not have a hair dryer in the room. My wife was not impressed.

“Comfortable Stay - easy access to airport”

We found the Hilton Garden Inn Albany Airport extremely comfortable. The staff was helpful and pleasant (except for an early morning shuttle driver who bordered on rude). One thing all hotels should copy - our bed had a choice of pillows, the normal firm hotel variety and softer down feather pillows.

“Perfect!”

Perfectly neat, clean, new, attractive, comfortable, accommodating, helpful...Full breakfast and dinner serivce available. Perfect bed. So close to airport I could have walked. Shuttle service available within 3 mile radius. Perfect accommodations took the stress out of a stressful trip.

“A Very Nice Stay”

We had a very nice stay at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Airport. This hotel is less than 5 minutes from the airport which was important to us since we had a 6 am flight going home. We enjoyed the work out facilities, the indoor pool and spa which was all in very good condition. This hotel has a little pantry where you can buy wine, beer, soda and sandwiches, or cheeses to enjoy in your room. They do have an on site restaurant and bar and both are very nice. The prices for the food and beverages were good. Another nice thing that we appreciated about this hotel, was the easy convenience of accessing Interstate 87 and 90. Its just a few blocks down from this hotel with easy to follow signage. The room was very comfortable and the bed was nice. We will definitely stay here again when in Albany.

Area recommendations

If you have an early morning flight, this is the hotel that you would like to stay at. Because of this convenience, we were able to sleep a little bit later and still be at the airport on time. In a matter of 20 minutes, we had returned our rental car and gone through security.

When to go

While in the Albany area, we travelled to Cooperstown on a beautifull fall Sunday, The drive was about 90 minutes to and from the museum from our hotel and the countryside was very pretty. The Baseball Hall of Fame was fantastic, and we strolled around town the entire day just absorbing the experience. It was not crowded and the cool fall weather made for a comfortable visit.

“Nice place with one BIG disappointment”

We loved ALMOST everything about this place. But their attention to detail was surprising. They knew there would be 3 guests staying and the sofa bed was NOT made and ready. Just found it tacky that everything else was done w care and detail and THAT was overlooked. The last thing someone wants to do staying in a hotel is make their own bed! It was late at night when we discovered it so rather than complain we did it ourselves but it left us feeling bummed out about the place...

Area recommendations

We were dropping our daughter off at Siena College and didn't travel anywhere except locally in Latham/Loudenville area of Albany. But we do LOVE the area and can't wait to go back as the leaves change color in the fall!

“Perfect for Airport travel”

Had early flight out of Albany Airport. With 5 minutes notice we were at the airport in 3 minutes as the location is right down the road.

“Beautiful room close to airport”

Stressed over delayed flight and lost luggage - we were delighted with the room. We arrived late and were able to purchase wine, real food snacks, and sundries in the lobby late at nigh - a real life saver. Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful.

Area recommendations

Colonie was a present surprise, lots of stores and restaurants very close to the airport if you have limited time.
