A pleasant, clean, and distinctive motel! All of the staff (desk, custodial, breakfast) were polite and helpful. This independent motel has an attractive southwestern paint scheme on the outside and outdoor corridors. Indoors are a good-sized lobby and gift shop. Rooms are comfortable, WiFi and even the TV work well and are easy to use. Plenty of hot water as well. For the breakfast, you sit down and order from the menu restaurant-style. Most breakfast items are included with your stay. If you want the absolute latest and fanciest, look elsewhere. If you want the basics, along with cleanliness and comfort, here’s your lodging in Alamogordo NM. Highly recommended.

Spent a night with our dog when visiting White Sands. Half the rooms are closed for renovations. Judging from the architect drawings, it will greatly improve the property. The current state of the exterior is worn and a bit dirty (cigarette butts on stairs). Room was pleasant enough with a comfortable bed and new-looking wash basin, but the bathtub was old and stained. The breakfast was wonderful--way better than the typical chain fare. We got it to go so we could eat with our pup. Servers and front desk staff very friendly. Getting the refund of the deposit for bringing a dog took some effort. After two phone calls (the 2nd with a not very friendly manager), the refund was made six days after our stay.

Stay away! Old, dirty, very outdated. The only positive was the bed was comfortable. My granddaughter refused to take a shower because the tub was filthy. Breakfast is supposed to be included, but the free options are limited, and they won't give you a credit towards your meal if you choose an option that is not part of the free breakfast. Also, one reason we wanted to stay here was to swim, but the pool was closed.
