"Convenient place to stay for early morning flight"
Clean, comfortable place to spend one night before flying in or out of SJO. Staff very friendly and helpful. Can take care of departure tax for $4 fee. Free shuttle very efficient and easy to use. Lots of restaurants nearby (tourist pricing) or grab dinner or breakfast at closeby Walmart.
It was a great place to stay the night before an early flight! Room was clean and bed was comfy and they even made a to-go bag for our continental breakfast as our flight was so early we missed the normal breakfast at the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful!
We stayed at the Trapp Family Country Inn upon our arrival and the night before our departure from the San Jose Airport. The grounds and the Inn are beautiful. The staff was excellent and the food was very good. The breakfast which was included in our price was served on the beautiful verandah and was presented in a professional manner.
The Inn is away from the public street and surrounded by the rain forrest. It is very secure.
The bed was a little hard for my taste and the only other thing that was less than perfect was there was not a chair in the room. The TV was old but that was not important to us.
I had to layover at the San Jose airport for the afternoon and night and didnt want some airport hotel. I found this place. Its about 15 mins max away. What a great choice. SO much better to sit overlooking the green hills of Costa Rica and drink a smoothie by a garden pool. I got a massage at the spa. Excellent
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Buena Vista for 2 nights and had an excellent experience. We had originally only booked one night and planned to stay there the day before we left Costa Rica, but bad weather at another location led us to call Hotel Buena Vista the day before our stay to see if they had any availabilities for another night. They were very helpful, spoke perfect English, and booked us a beautiful balcony room that very day. The parking area felt very safe, the staff were smiling and happy to help us find activities in the area. The rooms are spacious, and it was cool enough even in July that we didn't mind there was no A/C. The first night we stayed in a room in the main hotel, and the walls are a bit thin. There was a large tour group staying at the hotel and we could hear them during dinner and whenever they entered/exited their rooms. Our second night was completely noise-free though. We upgraded to a private villa (there are 5 on property). We had a huge room with 2 beds, 2 couches, a private screened in porch overlooking San Jose. We ate dinner on property that night, huge portions and good quality. It only took us about 20 minutes to get to the airport from the hotel, but you would never know you were so close with how private the grounds feel. We will definitely stay again when we return for our next trip!
We stayed there for a week and enjoyed the place to its entirety. From the humming birds and butterflys feeding of their plants to the great breakfast in the morning. Also very convinient location to get to the airport.
The front desk clerk, Dider, made our stay amazing and unforgettable! Helped us first time Costa Rica travellers pick the right spots and told us how to get around! Meant so much to us having him to talk to when we first landed in Costa Rica. Martino Hotel was overall an amazing stay. Beautiful pool area kept very tidy and clean! Made us feel at home!
