“Great Hotel and well worth the time to get there”
We have travelled throughout the ME and various Emirates in the UAE and have to say that this is probably one of the best relaxing holidays that you can find. Staff were great and extremely helpful. Food was delicious and varied. Facilities were first class. We will return
“An oasis of calm and excellent service”
Wonderful hotel with very friendly staff who really worked to ensure we had a brilliant holiday. 13 year old son soon made friends through the activity programme. The food is excellent - all the restaurants offer varied, delicious meals and the breakfasts and themed buffets in the main restaurant are of a high quality and plentiful with something for everyone. The Royal Residence teas are exceptional, with great service. We shall return!
“Great seaside hotel”
A great holiday destination for young families. Brilliant swimming pool and sandy beach with plenty of lifeguards. KIds club was nice for short spells in the heat of the day (best times for swimming are early and late in the summer when we visited). Service was good with staff at reception and the restaurant very child friendly. Be aware of the timing of Ramadan when planning a visit anywhere in the gulf as it will affect which of the food and drink facilities are open at what time and also it is sensible to dress more conservatively when outside the hotel than at other times of year.
“Great Place, going back at next opportunity”
Had a really enjoyable stay, our 14 month old girl had the time of her life, the penguin club was fantastic as it had plenty of toys and activities for her age. We ate in the Thai, italian and the Views. The Thai was a big mistake as we had our Baby with us and it is quite a quiet intimate restaurant, two female waitresses were looking annoyed that we were taking too long to order (as we were trying to calm our baby) they were clearly gossiping about us, it was unproffessional and made me feel uncomfortable.. The Italian service was fantastic, friendly and professional though my advice would be to stick to the pizza and pasta (my husbands calzone pizza was 10/10) I had baked mozarella with anchovy (ice cold in the middle, no anchovys to be found). That said we did return there for lunch the next day and the staff recognized my baby and she loved the attention and we had a lovely lunch. Third night we ate at the Views, my favourite, the staff were excellent and clearly love their jobs, the manager came over and showed us pictures of his gorgeous baby on his phone, one waitress helped feed my daughter giving us a much needed break. A fantastic final meal. The lifegurds and animation staff were great, constantly talking to guests and making the children laugh, even the house keeping staff were chatty and had fantastic english. This was our first family holiday and already we are looking at dates to return again to the Meridien Al Aqah, overall a great experience
