A beautiful little boutique hotel in the old part of Chambery which is very picturesque. The hotel seems to be run by a couple who are very easy going and friendly which is the overall feel of the hotel (we weren't sure if they were the owners). It is tastefully decorated in a modern french style and it can't really be faulted. It is more like staying in a 5* appartment/B&B than a hotel as there is a lounge/lobby area where you can have breakfast but there is no dining area or outside area.
We were upgraded to a better room which had its own lounge with an open plan bathroom and bedroom look all to a very high standard of decoration with a tub bath and a huge shower.
Overall we were very impressed and it was the best hotel we stayed in on our trip to France without any pretentiousness that some of the other hotels seemed to have (without warranty). The 4* hotels we stayed in on our trip to France didn't match up to a 4* rating in the UK in our opionion but this more than matched a 5* rating and was value for money. Would definately stay there again.

Everything was perfect. Would highly recommend this hotel. Very nice room with AC. Very clean. Nicely decorated. Excellent restaurant on site. Beautiful views. Seamless check in, check out. Excellent location between highway and Chambery.

We stayed on a Monday (22nd July) when the restaurant was closed which may explain why we were the only guests in the hotel that night. But this also meant that we had it all to ourselves :-). The pool was very warm and spotless until clouds and wind from an approaching storm blew leaves all over it, which added to the charm. The service was excellent - warm, attentive but not overly so. It's the little things that count like a couple of slices of cake offered with a delicious sparkling rose, or the umbrella brought over 'in case the weather turns' whilst we were enjoying the warmth of the evening by the pool. Our room was kindly upgraded to a duplex level with air con which was not just opulent and high spec but also charming. The grounds were also beautiful (as well as spotless) and the guest book confirmed the high quality of guests and satisfaction enjoyed by all who have stayed.
Our only criticism would be the price of the breakfast. We booked it as there was nowhere else to eat within walking distance, and we wanted a last dip in the pool before checking out. At 25 euros per person, it is a steep price and inevitably we expected a lot - we each had a croissant, a pain au chocolat, a couple of slices of bread with small selection of jams, a small fresh fruit salad, fresh squeezed juice and coffee. Plus a small round local brioche. It was all very tasty but definitely not worth 25 euros.

We arrived on a Monday and the restaurant was closed. The hotel had let us know this in advance so we ate out. Beware the taxis are very expensive. On arrival the receptionist was incredibly helpful and showed us round the hotel personally, the best welcome we have ever experienced.
The food is superb. The pool area blissful and the gardens and grounds are great too.
Our room was in the old part and very comfortable.
It is nearly as quiet and peaceful as it looks but be aware there is a motorway that runs through these valleys and they create a constant thrum of traffic noise like background white noise and constant. Not a big problem though.
We had just one night in L'Iroko but I'd be inclined to go back for longer. Our room had a side view of the lake and the road was quiet overnight even with our balcony doors open ( it was a warm night - though there was also a fan). We appreciated the hotel car park as we had lots of luggage to unload. The Italian receptionist (whose name I didn't get) was very helpful and friendly. Even though we arrived mid-evening and didn't get out to eat till gone 9pm, there were lots of lively restaurants nearby still doing service. The next door 'Skiff pub' was a brasserie that served wholesome food in a bustling atmosphere. Breakfast in the hotel was 12 euros pp which seems about standard from experience. It was a fairly typical buffet with good variety though a shame that it is served in a windowless room. Overall, recommended.

I had to find a hotel quickly near to the Hospital in Aix Les Bains as my husband had an accident. The reviews on Expedia helped me narrow down the options and this hotel seemed to meet my requirements in terms of location and quality.
The standard of hotel, the kindness and helpfulness of staff, the restaurant and the lovely shops in the local street all surpassed my expectations.
The staff helped out with what arrangements they could.
I would love to visit again until different circumstances.

I needed a cheap place to sleep while travelling back from Italy, this was cheap and straight off the motorway, Ideal. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room small and basic, but did the job. nice view of the breakers yard! walked to a nearby resturant and had a good meal. Didn't take the offer of breakfast.
On arriving at the hotel we were disappointed by the location. On entering we found the reception area drab and totallt uninspiring. We were show to our room which was small and bare. we left immediately and found another hotel.
