“I am sure other hotels in the area provide better value for money”

“Great place, great deal.”

Excellent hotel in every way. The hotel is beautiful. The staff is very attentive. We thought the Indian restaurant was excellent. The only minor drawback is the hallway is hard marble and the noise of people walking down the hallway was loud.

Area recommendations

Near the Taj Mahal. Not much to do around the hotel. That seems to be the case in all of Agra.

“Would have been better if it weren't for all the weddings ....”

The service was lacking in this hotel due to the fact that they were super busy with all these weddings going on. At first I was upset, but after someone apologized, (without me saying anything), I was understanding and gave the hotel the benefit of that explanation.

Area recommendations

I am not sure, as I was told that it was not safe for me to walk outside...

Getting around

It is wise to take a driver but be sure to arrange the COMPLETE price before hand and if you are not into shopping, don't let them take you to places to shop that you don't want to go. The sales people in these shops are very pushy in their sales tactics and usually the driver gets a kick back.

“Very Impressive hotel, with great staff. would recommend to all.”

Excellent hotel, Arrived late in the evening after a 5 hour taxi ride from Delhi, on arrival greeted by 5 staff, one to take the bags, one to open the door, one to escort my driver to the dorms for an overnight stay in with the room price. Check in fantastic and shown around the room, the service in the restaurants was excellent, would recommend the Chinese restaurant for a break from local food. but be careful on how much you order, the portions are double that of the UK and we left half of the food, which was a great shame as it was first class.

Area recommendations

The location of this hotel is great and in large grounds so a nice oasis from the local attractions but in very easy reach of everything, just outside the hotel is a taxi rank and they will take you to the Taj or red fort, wait for you as long as you like and return you to the hotel for 200 INR. approx GBP 3.00

“Huge hotel but a personalized experience”

The Jaypee Palace Hotel is huge. You are greeted upon arrival with flower necklaces. During checkin you sit in comfortable chairs, drink tea, and chat one-on-one with the staff. The Jaypee is so big they give you a map with your card and give you directions as someone shows you to your room. Later, there is always staff available to point you in the right direction if you are looking for something. The hotel has a nice garden, a pool, a spa, a leisure center (with bowling!), and my favorite was the Tea Lounge. I encourage everyone who goes to this hotel to visit the Tea Lounge for a relaxing beverage. My stay was unfortunately short. I would love to come back!

Getting there

I hired a car, driver, and guide for my entire stay in India. International Travel House is very good and very professional. They work really hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I was greeted at the airport (in New Delhi) by a staff member. He led me out to the car and I was on my way to Agra to see the Taj Mahal and other attractions. If you are a solo traveler, I recommend that you don't try getting around on your own. Especially if you are female, the men can be aggressive and unfriendly if you are by yourself. I heard that solo females can also be taken on trips if they try to use a taxi. It can be scary, so hire a driver.
