The Hotel is the right choice for people who want to be right in the center of everything in the old city of Cartagena. From here you can walk easy to every attraction in the walled city. The hotel is not to big. It seems to be newly renovated. The rooms are of decent size as well as the bathrooms. The AC worked well. The rooftop pool is small but nice for a dip after a hot day. The cleanliness is very good, the hotel staff very friendly. They speak some English. The included breakfast was in form of a small buffet, which ran out quite early. Then you had to order extra and this was sometimes not free.
The rooms ware pretty quiet. The windows ware very good insulated ,so there is not much to hear from the busy Plaza de Coches. Only room 235 is affected by noise from the restaurant and the lobby so try to stay away from that room. The hotel is definitely a good deal and very much to recommend.

This a very well-located hotel, and it's delightfully designed, with rooms off a central courtyard where there's a small pool and where you have breakfast (which is yummy!) I had a ground floor room outside breakfast, but didn't get disturbed - it's a small hotel so there aren't an enormous number of guests. The rooms are lovely - excellent aircon (vital in Cartagena) and beautifully designed, with old-world charm. The bath / shower is part of the room and is enormous! Staff were very friendly and obliging; I lost my malaria pills and thought I'd left them at breakfast, so I asked the servers; but when I returned to the hotel reception told me that the chambermaids had found them in my room and they were safe! So there is a lot of attention to individual needs.

Felt truly as a welcomed guest. From arrival to departure was never short of attention and good service. On a car trip about six hours away, the hotel personnel took the time and care to call us (called the taxi driver) around 10:00 PM to confirm if all was well and what would be out estimated time of arrival. Very impressed.

The biggest problem was that there was nobody on staff to let me out of the hotel at 4 AM when I told them I needed to leave to catch a flight.
They lock the doors (with a key) every night. I'd requested that they reserve a taxi for me, but was told that calling a taxi as needed would be no problem. But there was nobody on duty at reception when I went to leave. A note saying I needed a taxi at 4 AM was posted at the reception desk, so the staff should have been aware. Fortunately, the doors were not especially "robust" and I was able to pull them open despite the lock and get out.. Hopefully they weren't permanently damaged. After that I had to walk a few blocks with luggage to find a taxi..
Other than that, the place was fine. A little expensive for what you get, but nothing for the tourist in Caratgena is cheap. It's in a good location in the old city, close to tourist sites, stores, and restaurants. The room wasn't huge but it's perfectly acceptable. My room overlooked the street but had a double door to the balcony to cut the noise. Breakfast was typical - fruit, eggs, toast, juice and a hot drink. Some of the staff speak English (and my passable Spanish did the rest). They have satellite TV and good AC, plus a ceiling fan. But the hotel is on the second floor and there is no elevator, so if you have luggage you need to haul it up the stairs.
