“Party Hotel”
If you're wanting a relaxing, quiet holiday in a nice hotel than don't come here. They had wedding functions and party goers in their bar/restaurant most nights and didn't care at all about the noise for the paying guests. The beds were hard, pillows flat and service counter staff were more interested in looking at their screens then serving. It was a fairly convenient location for a short walk to the Rundel Mall but I wouldn't recommend the hotel if you're looking for good service, are married and want a romantic get away or with children who need to sleep at night. We also continually had people talking and smoking outside out room window which you could smell through the walls.
“I wish there was a hotel like this everywhere we went, its great.”
Not glitzy just really interesting & full of charm, very well presented its the only place to stay in Adelaide, close to everything. Sometimes the lift smells damp but this probably because it actually goes down to the cellar, which is really the genuine pioneer type cellar that you are allowed to wander through, no concrete down there just original hand made bricks, fantastic.
“A Fine Hotel”
We recently enjoyed a lovely weekend staying at the Medina Grand Adelaide Treasury. The room was fantastic, the facilities outstanding and the staff and service professional. polite and very unobtrusive. Will be back.
“Rooms in a lovely setting in a hotel with a wonderful history. I will return”
On check in my wife and I were disappointed we were allocated a ground floor room and since we never like ground floor we asked for a higher level room (only 2 other levels). The receptionist was very obliging and cheerfully satisfied our request. Many ground floor rooms are right on the footpath and not very private with the curtains open. We were very pleasantly surprised to get an outstanding room with separate bedroom, quite large, beautifully restored and well appointed. The bedroom in particular was of historic significance and the room even provided a description of this significance. Don't miss a viewing of the the Cabinet Room or the underground tunnels. All staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel is well positioned for transport, shops and restaurants and is also very quiet, then again, coming from Sydney, Adelaide is very quiet. The room had a full kitchen which was well equipped and very clean. The only negative was that we couldn't get the oven to work. Not a real issue for us with a microwave also installed. We reported the issue when checking out and reception were very keen to learn of the problem and gave the impression it was a priority for them.
“City getaway”
Lovely old building and the 1 bedroom apartment gave us that extra room to spread out. Only a queen size bed but very comfortable and modern apartment in an excellent position. A big TV in the bedroom as well and a nice big bathroom. 1 blocks walk to China town and the markets and 2 blocks in the other direction to the Rundall st Mall. Also the tram out the front. The balcony was nice for some fresh air too. Can highly recommend this property.
“Very impressed”
Great staff, location and decor
“can't wait to go back”
Lovely historic building, modern facilities and rooms with the old time elegance of the Treasury building preserved. Enjoy the courtyard and fountain, a gathering place for locals on Friday, evenings mostly all to yourself other days. Located just a short walk across Victoria square to free tram and bus. Stroll to markets, enjoy fresh artisan food,. Friendly unobtrusive service,.
“Old world opulence with a modern twist”
We were three couples staying over the Easter break. All the bookings were made at the same time under the one name but all the rooms had different configurations and each had different features. Our room was a traditional kingbed room, the bed was comfortable including the pillows. The room included a microwave and mini kitchen which was ideal for quick snacks. An adequate mini mart was just around the corner. There was also a view of the attractive courtyard. One couple had a queenbed room with a slightly bigger kitchen. The actual bedroom was more spacious than ours and appeared more grand because of the size. They also had view of the courtyard. The other couple had a full kitchen, laundry, lounge and the bedroom was separated by a partially walled divider. This room did not have a view of the courtyard. However it was ideal for a shared breakfast Easter morning. The decore of all the rooms was the same, modern and elegant. The major benifit of all the rooms was being able to open the windows for fresh air during the night. Also the court yard was an ideal place to sit and have a quiet drink after a day of touring. The location was central to key tourist spots. Hutt Street restaurants were wonderful! The reception staff were always friendly and most helpful. Our evening meal at the restaurant delicious especially the lamb. Our efficient waitress was charming.
“Will go back”
Happy with everything, but the only thing is they don't have parking area for people that stay in the hotel, you have to park your car within a block away. It is so inconvenience if rain. Daily room service is ok need to make sure floor are vacuum and enough daily use items. Overall "Satisfaction"
“Great place to stay”
The hotel was very good. The only negative comment I would make is that the second bedroom was quite small. There was nowhere to put you bags. The living area however was large and there was room there for the bags and they were out of the way. We had three adults in the apartment and there was plenty of room (apart from the bedroom)
