“Nice hotel in Addis Ababa”

good hotel in addis ababa, but internet is charged (even you paid USD250/ per night).

“Older Hotel with the Best Gym in Addis”

Well, for those who have been to Addis over the years, this is a hotel that remains reasonably consistent. Pretty good service but really no maintenance in years. Still, when entertaining local customers or government officials, it is still good enough. For years it was the best place in Addis but it has easily lost that title to the Sheraton. Having said this, the Sheraton does not have a gym and so I still choose to stay here for this reason alone. The Sheraton does have a nicer pool but the Hilton's is still fine. Overall, not a very good Hilton but for Addis it is still my top choice.

“Not going back”

There are cheaper and better located hotels with quality service, and free internet, walking distance to the international organizations and UN compound. The desk staff need to be refreshed on their customer service skills. There are enough staff to accommodate needs quickly and without stress, but quality service oriented mindset is lacking. Only advantage of the hotel is its outdoor heated pool. Very nice for the evening.

Getting around

Pickup taxis outside the hotel. If you pick one up in the compound, the hotel attendants will get their share of the fare as well, and you'll be paying twice what you'd pay if you walk outside.

Shopping

There is a convenient shop in the hotel compound, for buying water, snacks, and fruits. Very useful, since shops or restaurants outside the hotel all require a taxi ride according to the concierge.

“This Hilton is a resort inside of a very poor city”

I felt funny about paying so much for a hotel room knowing that the cost of one night's stay is more than the average annual income for the average Ethiopian. The hotel though provided a welcome respite from the noisy, unruly city devoid of traffic signs, stoplights, pedestrian crossings, etc. Go to the Hilton to forget that you're in a very poor country stuggling to get ahead. Go to the Hilton to get a massage. Go to the Hilton to enjoy the natural hot springs and delightful swimming pool. But then return to the real city outside the property's walls, and try to share some of your traveling money with the local people in other ways - shopping, restaurants, mini-taxis, etc. The city can be heartbreaking. It is also fascinating and worth a visit. Be prepared.

“Old history”

The Hilton is an old hotel and it shows; rooms are outdated and no longer pristine. However the hotel staff and the quality of the restaurant food and service more than make up for any inconveniences.

“Good Hotel with Plentiful Amenities”

The Hilton is a good 4 staryt hotel. It has good bars, restaurants, very good pizza house and plenty of cafes on site. It also has a natural spring swimming pool. There is a fantastic coffee bar just inside the lobby where a local woman serves coffee which is traditionally roasted over charcoal in front of you - fantastic value @ 5 Birr (25p) a cup, and a great experience!

“Hilton only by name and nothing more....”

I have stayed at Hotels that are offering much more to the guest while the prices are better. here we have an overprised entity who's only attraction is the name and the fact that availability of Hotels is limited in Addis Ababa

“Top Hotel mit allem Komfort”

Zentrale Lage, 20 Minuten vom Flughafen (Abends bzw. frueh morgends). Top Hotel, speziell wenn man afrikanische Massstaebe ansetzt kaum zu toppen. Sehr guter Service rund um die Uhr. Sehr gutes Essen. Sauberes Hotel. Hohe Sicherheit durch 2 Schleusen (Einfahrt und Eingang zur Lobby).

“Great Hotel for Addis business and exploration”

Great Hotel. Not too formal and comfortable. Rooms with sufficient space and good breakfast and service. Nice pool on whirlpool temperature, which is great for the extended opening hours (morning 0600 till evenings 2200) and which is also used by members, so good to mix with locals there.
