“Not a beachfront hotel”

Great hotel, I had an awesome time. But it's NOT a beachfront hotel. It's a five minute walk from the beach, which is great, but I expected it to be ON the beach.

“Sea Garden”

We only stayed at the Sea Garden for 2 days at the end of a trip staying at the Grand Mayan for a week. If you can stay at the Grand Mayan do that it is superior however the Sea Garden has great facilities and pool with cabanas at the beach and a nice Italian restaurant.

Getting around

We hired a driver for the week Benjamin Alarcon who was fabulous, very reasonable and informative. We were able to go well outside of the city and stop at real local places to eat (not ones set up for tourists) and felt completely safe all of the time. Thoroughly reccommend contacting Benjamin.

“Great for families”

Very clean and well kept.Staff friendly and efficient. Large room with kitchenette and everything you need. Two small stores at walkable distance and large supermarkets not too far by car. Daily programmed activities in hotel were fun. Italian restaurant good. Downside: beach is across the street. No nightly activity in this area of Acapulco. Open air mall nearby.

“See you next time”

It was exactly what we were looking for. Not expensive and close to the beach. Besides it was really important for us to have a full kitchen. Ocean Beerze Hotel is a guarantee simply because it belongs to the Mayan Palace, one of the most incredible hotels that we have in Mexico. People at the hotel were really nice.

Area recommendations

Punta Diamante because there are the nicest beaches,not that populated and it is really calm.

“Needs improvements”

After arrival almost at midnight (my friend after grueling flight from Europe), we checked in and right from the reception were sent to the room. When we asked where to go as there were several buildings, the lady pointed in a way that we still didn't know. So we went to the first building, climbed stairs to a second floor with our heavy bags (no elevator) and found out that our room number was not there...so we dragged our suitcases to another building, climbed the stairs to the 2nd floor (again no elevator) and there it was. Both were 3 story buildings and no elevators, very inconvenient if you have heavy bags! The room was nice, however, the beds extremely hard, with pillows that could be filled with bricks. At 8AM we were woken up by a lawn mower under our windows - joy of having a golf course right there....Otherwise all good but I cannot imagine staying there longer than one night. They have a nice Italian restaurant, that we visited later in the week, but we stayed in a different hotel.

“Would not go back”

Rooms are small and very old furniture, etc. Could use refurbishing. Two story units with no elevators. No hairdryers, irons in room. You could get one by calling the front desk, but had to return it within one hour! The grounds were nice and the staff pleasant. I requested a non-smoking room near the elevator because back husband has a bad back and knee. I got a smoking room on the second floor (no elevator) far from the elevator.
