“Comfortable and convenient for travel and shopping.”
The hotel is within easy walking distance of rail, bus and ferry transport. The new shopping centre is very close by and Union Street is a few minutes walk. The only real down of this hotel is the stairs. Reception is on the first floor and the rooms are up from that. There is no lift so not recommended for anyone with mobility problems.
“Definitely use this hotel the next time I go to Aberdeen - excellent value too”
My daughter and I stayed in the hotel for three nights, each of which was very comfortable with the exception of the room being very warm (but would rather this to being cold), we had to sleep with window open as heating could not be adjusted, which was fine except for the 5am wake up of docks and rubbish lorries - but as not a good sleeper anyway it did not bother me and with window closed you could not hear them. Staff were friendly and helpful advising on nearby secure parking. Breakfast was good choice for a smaller scale hotel, although they did not really have "child friendly" cereal, my daughter loved the bacon - advise that they do finish breakfast orders at 0930 every morning even Sundays - waitress said in the two years she had worked there she had not seen children at the hotel (in a friendly manner, not critical) and I can not see why, it would make an idea situation for a family stay ... ideally near shops, bus and train. I could not fault the hotel for the value given but we did get a good price through expedia. We did not use the restaurant, mainly because it was busy on the first night and we had made plans for the following evenings ... but they even give residents a 10% discount voucher to use on all dates of stay which makes it on a par with most restaurants around the city. I would and have recommended this hotel to anyone planning a short or even longer stay in Aberdeen - allow £15 per day parking charge in Union Centre car park.
“Terrible”
The hotel is located in the city centre. A large mall is just across the hotel but the hotel is horrible There is no elevator, you have to drag your luggage through the steep stairs. The room is tiny, no phone in the room.
“Not the newest Hotel in Town, but ...”
Not the newest Hotel in Town, but good cleaning and very nice service from Staff.
“Enjoyable visit to Aberdeen”
I found this hotel to be very friendly and my room was clean and tidy. Exactly what I required for my weekend in Aberdeen. Situated very close to the Railway Station and centre of town. Couldn't have been better. Would definitely stay again.
“soprano hotel aberdeen”
hotel is fine!! food in hotel is very good and reasonable price. staff are nice and accomodating. stairs in the hotel are thought every night after enjoying the aberdeen night life but All in all, good value for money.
“Sour taste !”
Rate per Night is expensive for a nothing special Hotel. Internet connction at more 7 1/2 %of the room is really taking the mickey. I only pay £15 a month at home. Its OK says the receptionist, its £1 in the Bar, that makes it OK ? Total stranger of the street can connect for a pound, while "guest" has to pay an extra tenner on top of an already steep accoms rate. NO lift ! so if you've got heavy luggage you'll need the trickle over bath shower ! Good Breakfast and staff were courteous when explaining the rip-off Management extrasPolicy .
“Lack of hot water”
Room was clean & tidy, but no hot water. I ran the shower for 20 minutes and the temperature was tepid, not a good start to the day. When you book in ask for a room anywhere but the top floor, I think the other rooms would be better. Lack of Hot water is a serious complaint, but at 6am there was nobody to complain to.
“Cosy and personalised service.”
Wireless internet was 10£/24 hours access, but it did not work very well and the hotel management offered a refund. Everything else was as expected!
“If you don't need wifi, tv or quiet.”
This hotel is located right by the ferry docks. Locals party here from weekend to weekday. The wifi connection is poor to none in areas of the hotel. To be fair, they are renovating and modernizing the rooms. Bedding is clean.
