“Suitable for some”

This is not just a room but rooms and they were all very clean and comfortable. I would point out if you have any mobility problems it is not for you unless you request a room at ground level. We had steps down for entry from the car park and then four flights of stairs to climb for our rooms and it came as a bit of a surprise. The shower we had was over the bath so another reason to ask questions before booking if this could be a problem for you. We had help with our case on leaving but not on arrival. It is very convenient for the city centre and the facilities are good but different to your usual hotel arrangements.

“The best value for money in Aberdeen”

I've stayed at the Skene House in Rosemount prior to this and thought I'd give the apartments in Holburn a try this time round. As I was with the Rosemount Skene House I was equally as impressed with the Holburn ones. The Skene House website does not do this hotel chain justice. Each apartment is furnished to a very high standard with a seperate living room and kitchen which is perfect for having a few drinks before you head out and having a greasy hangover cure in the morning. In complete honesty you won't get anywhere of a better standard for a more competitive price anywhere in Aberdeen and it's right next to the centre with private parking. I can assure you you won't regret booking it :)

I would recommend for drinking heading down Justice Mill Lane enough selection of clubs for all ages.

“I have never given an all 5 rating before”

The hotel was great in every detail. Spotlessly clean, living room and kitchen in addition to bedroom, breakfast very well presented, and all details thought of down to nice coffee with fresh milk in the apartment and a complimentary drink in the bar - will definitely stay again on my next trip to Aberdeen - I have never given an all 5 rating before.

“PERFECT”

This is an amazing apartment. Extremely good value, we couldn't believe our luck. The apartment is well equipped including a caffietere with real coffee anf fresh milk in the fridge! On arrival we were told that there is a complimentary drink from the bar whenever we want it and a pot of coffee and biscuits available all day in the lounge (along with the newspapers). The continental breakfast was amazing with a huge choice. There was a secure car park at the back of the hotel. The staff were very efficient and friendly. I will definately be staying at Skene on any future trips to Aberdeen.

“The place to stay in Aberdeen”

I will never stay at just another hotel ever again. The Skene House Holburn Apartments were excellent! A full sized apartment with kitchen, two bedrooms, large living room and a great continental breakfast each morning. Great staff and very clean apartment. About a mile walk to the bus station/train station.

Area recommendations

We traveled to Stonehaven, Cruden Bay, Inverness and St. Andrews from Aberdeen. Highly recommend Cruden Bay to see Slains Castle ruins and Stonehaven to see Dunottar Castle.

“Makes ordinary hotels look very ordinary”

This was a fantastic experience. We got the best rates through Expedia and yet had an apartment with 2 beds, bathroon, kitchen and large lounge/diner. It was beautifully presented and maintained with private car parking, ace breakfasts and access to an honesty bar. And all within 5 minutes walk of the city centre. Could not be beaten.

Traveller's tip

The apartments have their own laundry facilities so you could stay here for weeks and feel like you're in you're own home. Excellent.

“Ok , men ikke heis!”

Bra med leilighet, men det er ikke ok å havne i 3 etasje uten heis. Vennlig service var det beste med stedet. Ok frokost, men en må betale ekstra for varm mat. Resepsjonen var veldig hjelpsom. Hard madrass, og tv savnes på soverommet. Rent og fint på kjøkkenet.
