Special Check-In Instructions

The reception office is open 8 AM - 6 PM Monday through Friday, and is located at 47 Regent Quay. The apartments are located at 19-21 and 52 Regent Quay. Guests must contact the property at least 48 hours prior to arrival to obtain check-in instructions. Without contacting the property, access to the building cannot be guaranteed. An on-call manager is available 24 hours a day to assist guests with any queries or problems during their stay.

“Very Happy”

There don't seem to be too many hotel options in Aberdeen, but we were very happy with our stay at City Wharf. Their system of calling in before you arrive to get an access code to the building and unit worked very well, unlike in London where we needed to check in at one location and walk about 10 blocks with our luggage to get to our actual unit. The room was very clean and modern and the 'continental breakfast' of fresh eggs, milk, cereal, bread and wine delivered to your room was great! Our taxi driver made a bit of a joke about the location on the wharf....being a 'typical wharf area", but we thought it was fine. It was just a 5 minute walk to Union Street and all of the restaurants, shops, etc.

Hotel liegt sehr zentral. Busbahnhof , Bahnhof und Hafen sind in ca 5 minuten zu Fuß zu ereichen.

“Die Wohnungen liegen nur 2 Straßen vom Bahnhof und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten entfernt.”

Beim Buchen wurde, trotz des Names, der Eindruck vermittelt, dass es sich um ein zusammenhängendes Gebäude handelt. Um ein Hotel. Jedoch war es eine kleine Wohnung ein paar Hausnummern weiter. Koffer wurden nicht getragen. Service, der angeboten wird, wie Massagen, Sporthalle etc waren nicht im Gebäude. Der Blick auf den Hafen war vorhanden. All inclusive: Möven und große Schiffe + dazugehörige Geräusche. Durch fehlende Geräuschisolierung der Wände und Decken konnte man, trotz geschlossenem Fenster, Gespräche vor dem Fenster in voller Lautstärke hören. Schritt von oben waren sehr laut. Die Wohnung wurde ausreichend möbeliert. 2-Mann-Sofa, Sessel, TV, DVD-Player, Microwelle, Wasserkocher, Herd, hübsches Badezimmer, schönes Schlafzimmer, sehr kuschlige Decke. Leider eine zu weiche Madratze. Trotz Beschwerde über das Bett, wurde nach einer Woche immernoch nichts getan. 1-2 Straßen weiter ist eine große Hauptstraße mit sehr vielen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Der Bahnhof ist innerhalb von 5 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Auch das Touristeninformationscenter ist in nur wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Alles in allem ist es eine relativ gute Lage, es ist Alles in der Nähe. Das Apartment ist hübsch eingerichtet, jedoch scheint der 3-Mann-Betrieb überfordert zu sein.

Area recommendations

Es ist eine kleine Tagesreise, sich in den Zug nach Inverness zu setzen, jedoch lohnt es sich. Neben dem Bahnhof in Inverness ist der Busbahnhof, von welchem aus man leicht nach Loch Ness kommt. Natürlich ist es nur ein See, jedoch ein schöner. Das Dunnottar Castle in Stonehaven (20 min mit dem Zug von Aberdeen) ist sehr empfehlendwert! Auch Landschaftlich ist es eine schöne Küstengegend mit herrlichen Klippen. Ein Muss!

What to pack

Ganz viel Obst und Gemüse sollte man einpacken. Die Schotten scheinen das nicht so zu mögen. In gerade mal 2 von 6 Läden haben wir Obst und Gemüse entteckt. Auch sonst sollten viele Lebensmittel mitgenommen werden. Das Frühstück war zwar gut, jedoch mögen es die Schotten viel zu süß.
