The second time around was every bit as good as the first time. The Food was delicious with many choices on the breakfast menu, there was also a late night meal for guests whom were fasting. It was great to see Mr's Marco, Muhammad, Honi, and the rest of the Staff, they did not miss a beat during there month long fast. I took a Hotel arranged tour, the name of the driver escapes me, he is a very good man, we did Memphis, the step, red and bent pyramids. I walked directly across the street to the Museum of Antiquities. I'll be seeing you again before this year is out.

I have stayed at this hotel before, and it always delivers. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed rather than bustling, but there is plenty of excitement to be had for the more intrepid travelers. The staff are EXTREMELY courteous and professional, often going out of their way to help. The restaurants are staffed by world-class cooks, and there are several terrace cafes where you can dine and puff on a shisha as you gaze over the Nile.

This is a well located hotel in the centre of Cairo.
The staff here are very helpful and welcoming. They organised our 3 day stay in Cairo with a private driver.
This included pyramids in Giza, Saqqara, Islamic Cairo and Alexandria.
I was in egypt previously and stayed at a five star resort. Outside of the room quality, the experience at Grand Royal hotel was better.
What do I mean?
The staff was nice and courteous. I missed breakfast twice by over an hour and they still delivered me breakfast with no hesitation. They ordered me cabs &did research for me on some business I was doing there. FYI I paid minimal for the taxis, actually a fraction of the cost of what the 5star got them for.The staff was well spoken in English/Arabic and they hosted my guests with tea while they waited for me to meet in sitting area. You'll get to really see the Egyptian culture there and it's a nice distance from most places. I stayed in the junior room but I imagine all rooms are the same standard of quality. The room had good lighting, good AC, a working shower, sink and toilet that was comfortable enough for me to sit on with out padding the seat lol.
What can they improve?
They can use a wax/buff on the floor. A mirror replacement, new bulb in bathroom. Plumbing update. The sink would sometimes spit out water towards my belly for a split second when the water was running. The shower took a couple of minutes to figure out if it was hot or cold but once it did it was consistent temperature. A shower curtain installation would be nice too! New bedding/mattress would be a good investment. But this is me being a tuff critic.
A great convenient location in the middle of everything. Whatever the purpose of your stay was, this place is definitely the right choice. The rooms are very clean, big and well maintained as well as the common facilities. A great catch for this small price. And the staff where very welcoming and helpful. Being on the 15th floor, you get a great view of the whole metropolitan!!
