A very pleasant stay with helpful staff. Free apples at reception and a very good breakfast. The park next to the hotel has trees that have recorded music next to them. Press a button and you get the theme tune to Monty Python!! The fire alarm went while we were there which was slightly strange because it was a recorded announcement in various languages not an alarm.
Stayed in First Hotel Aalborg for 2 nights on a tour round Denmark. Was our first stop in the country and was in such a lovely, central location but quiet too, so the best of both worlds. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff on the check-in desk with a spacious and bright breakfast area adjoining the reception. Comfy and reasonably spacious room overlooking a courtyard. TV, armchair and dressing table with good sized bathroom. Would stay here again if we were to go back to Aalborg.

A fairly new and pleasant hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Very central. Very small room. Steep stairs up into hotel from street (stair lift available). No vehicle access to hotel entrance, so be prepared for a short walk from taxi/bus. Some late night noise, intensity depends on room location. I would stay there again.
The location is great(straight in the middle of the city), and the rooms are clean. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable but small, and the room is small. The bathroom arrangement could be improved and is compact, but the shower is a powershower.
The hotel room was small and basic, a twin, but it was clean and functional. The pool and sauna were really nice and the free wifi was a bonus. There was no noise at night and so I slept well.
I liked the fact that the hotel was situated out of the town centre in a nice area. It only took just over 30 minutes to walk to the zoo and around 40 for the centre of Aalborg.
I asked for gluten free breakfasts and the hotel kindly baked me a loaf of gluten free bread (but didn't provide a separate carving knife and expected me to use the knife used to cut the gluten containing bread). There was no gluten free cereal, but I was able to eat some of the hot food (bacon and eggs), yogurt and fruit which was very tasty.
The staff spoke good English which was appreciated as I needed some help and advice regarding my stay in Aalborg.
The hotel wasn't cheap so the room was a bit dissapointing, but I suspect that this was due more to the high cost of most things in Denmark.
Great motel next to the highway which is easy when travelling north-south through Denmark. The noise of the highway could be disturbing if you are not used to it and want the room window open at night.
Aalborg has transformed itself from an industrial hub to a pleasant college town. Its waterfront features the futuristic Utzon Center cultural complex. In contrast to this 21st-century landmark, go to the Jens Bangs House, a Renaissance mansion across from the Town Hall. A short walk from the city center is a slice of Africa: the Aalborg Zoo is home to 140 animal species, from aardvarks to zebras.
