While the hotel is comfortable and warm, and is in a good location, a bit more attention to detail is required.
We rented a room for 3 for two nights. The beds were comfortable and the room was warm. However on the first day we only had two towels and had to request another. On the second day we only had one towel! You also need to ensure that you bring your own shampoo etc as none is provided by the hotel.
Wifi is also not provided - which is rather surprising these days. We paid for wifi, payment is required for each device, but in our room coverage was poor. Attention should be given to improving this.
On the plus side, the location of the hotel is good. Handy to the old part of lyon and the river. I suggest that you work out how to get there on the tram though, and don't walk.
We cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast as we never had it. But for the cost of breakfast for one us of, we went to the local bakery and bought croissants and pain au chocolat.
Overall we would recommend the hotel, but just be aware of its limitations.

"After long tiring trip this was pleasant surprise"
Had read other reviews, some good, some not so, so was not expecting too much. Just needed for a stop over on way to Spain and after a long days travelling was pleasantly surprised at how nice, clean, tidy and helpful hotel was. Staff understood English and were very nice, room & bathroom was lovely and clean, breakfast was good. Restaurant in evening was really good. Only one slight confusing issue is the parking. There is ample parking but need to be aware that it is underground and a bit difficult to find which area is Novotel and once parked how to get out of car park. After a bit of wandering around down there we saw small sign and escaped into stairwell and then foyer. Leaving, you have to enter codes to lift shutters.
