“Nice but expensive”
The exterior of the hotel is very nice. Nice pools. The staff was excellent and very accomodating. The room could use some renovation. The tub leaked from underneath the tub onto the floor. Maintenance came up twice to caulk to fix it but it still leaked. The restaurant lunch and dinner buffet is way over-priced. You have to pay for the use of the fitness area and hot tubs! The price of the hotel was decent, however, because you are isolated due to the hotel's location, they take advantage of you on everything...food, drinks, entertainment etc. The casino is a joke alos. Maybe 10 slot machines and 8 tables. Minimum on slots is 25 cents and they are very tight.
“Horrible Experience”
Horrible experience with this hotel. No consideration for the fact that I was unable to travel to this location because of a travel advisory.
“Great hotel but some bad experiences”
The hotel was great. It was clean and was a proper resort hotel. The food amenities were very good and the food of good quality. It is a long drive to the hotel from the airport but it is still closer to the pyramids than staying in the centre of Cairo. It is still a bit of a drive to the pyramids but not too bad. The concierge staff were very helpful. We had a very poor experience with the limousine company that arranged our daily transport as there was no communication between the day and night managers and we were constantly having issues with them trying to rip us off. When we were due to leave they wanted to charge us over double the price that we paid to get to the hotel from the airport. The concierge staff were helpful in arranging the previous night that we get the transfer to the airport for the same price that we paid from the airport only to find out the next day that the manager of the limousine company did not agree to anything and they were not willing to help us. Luckily the concierge was contacted and the transport was sorted out for the agreed price but my advice to future guests would be to not use the limousine service at all and get the number of a local street cab when first arriving at the airport. It will be much cheaper. If you are not used to haggling like I am then you will get ripped off. When negotiating a price knock 75% of their initial price and you will then be able to meet them half way and save yourself a packet.
“Would love to repeat the visit !”
Movenpick Media City ,cairo is so great ... The room was so clean , the diversity in the breakfast made the buffet rich and delicious . I just blame the team in few points : a pen was not available in my room - toothpaste was not present as well - so I advise the team to check well all the accessories in the room prior to guest arrival In general, the service was good and i highly recommend this hotel if u wanna get away from crowded cairo . I would love to repeat the visit !
“Will go back”
Although my check-in was not smooth as expected for a 5-star hotel (Took me about 1 hour to find the right room), the remaining stay was comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast buffet is included and was very good. The nights were very quiet and perfect for someone who seeks to rest during the month of April. There were 3 swimming pools that I would've loved to use if it weren't for the cool weather.
“Would definitely go back”
Saw a mixed bag of reviews before we left, but we enjoyed ourselves so much I can't imagine what levels of luxury or impossible standards one or two moaning reviewers have! Hotel is four star even by european standards. Room impeccable and cleaned thoroughly and punctually every day. All costs are good value by European standards but expensive by Egyptian standards. Taxi to Giza was quoted as 150 Egyptian pounds one way from hotel reception and 60 when we walked to just outside the hotel gate and found a great guy called Mahmoud, who we used every day until we left to drive us! Hotel situated on American-style boulevard, so if you want to eat other than at the hotel you'll have to get a cab. Good choice of restos and room service in hotel. Breakfast buffet fab with everything from pancakes to cereal to hot cooked to Egyptian goodies. So plentiful we ate breakfast and then nothing until dinner! Big pool complex, gym and a bar. Standards of service very high and they take a pride in it. Would recommend.
“Cairo Visit”
My husband and I just recently returned from Cairo and stayed 4 nights at MOevnpick. Great hotel for the price, you feel safe, the people are very nice, great pool for relaxing, was glad they had a television and a couple movie channels in English. The food is terrible... I am not a picky eater but it was very difficult for me to find anything on the menu/buffet that was satisfying. The resort is VERY far from the airport and a distance from downtown, but I liked that is was very clean and far away from the craziness of downtown Cairo.
“A lovely resort hotel with wonderful service”
I was in Cairo for business, and I stayed at this hotel because it was near my client's place.I wasn't expecting much, as I had read some mediocre reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised: the room was large and spacious, the facilities were beautiful, the food was terrific, and the service was great. Even the food from room service was hot and tasty, and it arrived promptly. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool and the extensive gardens. The room was nicely furnished, with a good-sized desk for my work. There's a lot of dust in this area because of the dryness, so the room was a bit dusty, but the bathroom sparkled. The breakfast buffet had a huge number of choices, plus a chef who cooked omelettes to order. It was fun to look through the huge glass windows and watch the chefs prepare the baked goods from scratch. Drawbacks: the hotel is on the outskirts of Cairo, so it takes about 45 minutes to get to the city; on the other hand, it's nice to get away from the confusion of Cairo. Also, the in-room internet charges are a rip-off, and there's no free WiFi anywhere on the property. This is a wonderful place for relaxing--and even for working!
“Movenpick le caire”
Tres bel hôtel silencieux avec un magnifique Spa, personnel tres agréable, délicieux buffet continental, dommage que l'hôtel soit un peu loin de tout, il faut obligatoirement prendre un taxi pour faire des activités ou se restaurer.
“Schönes Hotel in ruhiger Umgebung”
Wenn der Service beim Frühstück noch ohne aufforderung guten Kaffe servieren würde, wäre das Hotel perfekt.
