"Outstandingly the best!!"
This is, by far, the most beautiful, exquisitely furnished, comfortable, spacious hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are individually furnished, and it is the 'little' touches which add so much to this hotel - the teddy bear on the gigantic bed, the luxurious bedding, the soft pillows, the sweets, the fresh milk, the teapot and cups... The breakfast was just delightful.

Pocket Guide: North Yorkshire York 5 stars Boutique Hotels

Once enclosed by ancient fortified walls, York offers a wealth of cultural and historical sites, including York Castle, the National Railway Museum, and York Minster, a Gothic cathedral in the city center. The Shambles is a pedestrian-friendly street dating back to mediaeval ages, where it housed butcher shops. Today the scene is less gruesome, with quaint boutiques and tea rooms lining the road.
