The countys most rugged scenery and best beaches - Porthtowan, St Agnes, Perranporth, Polzeath, Newquay - are to be found here along with world-class surfing at Newquay. The latter is the most commercialised resort, with family attractions and a throbbing nightlife. The pretty fishing village of Padstow is the fashionable foodie capital of the region, while the spectacular Tintagel Castle ruins wrap themselves in the legend of King Arthur.
