Newbury is situated approximately 39 km west of Reading. Vodafone has its headquarters here, and the Newbury Racecourse hosts numerous horse racing events throughout the year. Donnington Castle, a mediaeval relic once owned by Geoffrey Chaucers son, is located north of Newbury.
