Clean and modern hotel with spectacular glass sail structure. Walking into reception you are faced with a four story coloured light display in the atrium. I was lucky enough to have a room high up, which had a good view over the port.
The staff for booking in and checking out were efficient and polite.
The hotel is a little out of the centre with a long walk around the harbour, but the walk along the seafront to get to the hotel is pleasant.
The rooms were nicely furnished with the bed facing the picture window.
We checked in at 7am in the morning right after leaving our cruise. We had a seamless check-in process at the front office. The employees were very professional and very accommodating since our rooms were not ready. They took our luggage and kept them safe and gave us a quiet room to relax and use the internet and free wifi access since we didn't have our rooms yet. We left to explore the city 2 hours later and when we came back to the hotel later on that day, our luggage was in our room all ready for us. Amazing room if you like the super modern theme.
I was on business but my wife came along for some vacation time. We both loved the hotel and their friendly staff. The location was based on my business meetings but many good restaurants and shopping were nearby. I am going back to Barcelona on business in the spring and will look into staying at the Claris again.
This was my first time in Barcelona and it was a treat from the company I work for. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff were fantastic. Very helpful and polite. Hotel fantastic. We stopped on 29th floor and had fantastic views. Amazing city. Will definitely visit again . Steve and shaaron , coventry
My husband and I have just returned from one of our best hotel experiences in all of our years of travel at the Hotel DO Placa Reial! The staff were so welcoming and helpful. You really feel as if you are staying at the home of really good friends or family. Our room was located above the hotel entrance, which was nice and quiet at all times. The room was a good size and had everything you could possibly want, including very comfortable beds, fluffy duvets, lots of pillows (including a pillow menu), a fridge with a variety of free drinks that are refilled each day (and more often with just your favourites upon request), a safe, TV and a large bathroom. In the bathroom were Molten Brown products to use in both the bathtub and large walk-in shower. There were also bathrobes and slippers supplied to use during our stay. The included breakfast was another wonderful experience to look forward to each morning. During the winter months, you can take breakfast in the basement restaurant or in your room and we greatly enjoyed both. The breakfast menu had a wide choice of hot and cold food and drinks. Everything was freshly prepared to order and so yummy. I really enjoyed the scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit mix, fresh baked pastry basket, fresh orange juice and thick Spanish hot chocolate. The location of the hotel is also very beautiful in a palm tree lined square. Everything you could possibly want to see and do is a short walk away. Really looking forward to returning!
An excellent four days at the Majestic with an upgrade to an executive room on arrival.
The hotel was well positioned for all sightseeing and the staff so helpful, with the concierge booking trips for us each morning.
On my husband's birthday they placed in our room a bottle of Spanish bubbly and a cake.
We stay in many 5 star hotels around the world mostly because of our work as touring musicians. Some of these hotels have a questionable high rating but definitely not the Miramar. Our premium room was very spacious with a massive bed, huge balcony with incredible views of Barcelona and the bay and gorgeous bathroom suite. The staff were friendly, helpful, spoke perfect English and also provided a glass of cava on arrival. The spa area was gorgeous and when we used it we were the only people in there (although this may be the time of day/year)
We didn't eat at all in the hotel as it wasn't included in the price so we preferred to eat in the town but we did have delicious cocktails!
The only thing that would have been the icing on the cake is if they upgrade the iPhone dock to iphone 5 comparability- I missed being able to put some music on. Other than this one little detail I am extremely happy to recommend this place! Enjoy!
