We stayed at this hotel for just one night as a stop-over before catching the Eurotunnel the next day & we were thrilled we chose it. Unfortunately we were very delayed due to horrendous traffic jams on the M25 so we missed dinner so our stay therefore felt a bit rushed, we didn't spend nearly the time relaxing we had anticipated. However, when we finally arrived, the first thing that was obvious was the friendly cheerful welcome from the staff that made us feel comfortable & at ease straight away. The room was lovely, nice decor & everything you needed inc flat screen tv and tray with water, usual tea, coffee, hot choc & biscuits etc. The bed was made up with really nice linen & was super comfy. We had a few drinks in the bar before retiring - it had a lovely atmosphere, it was late as other diners were finishing their meal & staff were preparing to clear and get organised for the morning. The décor in the bar was nice - light and airy, modern & traditional. The manager even popped over to chat, sympathise over our awful journey and offer sandwiches if we wanted as we hadn't eaten, we were too tired & just had crisps but the offer was kind nonetheless. Next morning we more than made up for it with a fantastic breakfast - nice hot strong tea, full English with top-notch quality ingredients and plenty of it. The morning staff were a totally different bunch to the ones from the night before but were equally lovely - we will definitely return to this wonderful place.
