We booked our stay at Vale D'Oliveiras Quinta Resort & Spa just three days before we left at the end of October. It was a last minute decision but we had done our research and were confident this hotel suited our needs. We wanted a relaxing break somewhere clean and comfortable. We were not disappointed. The resort is immaculate from the reception, gardens and facilities and is situated in the Algarve countryside a few miles away from the buzz of beach resorts. Our room (we had a one bedroom townhouse), was spacious, immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. The bedroom had a King size bed which was very comfy. The large bathroom was well supplied with towels and toiletries. The kitchen had everything you would need if you decided to live there! We especially loved the living/dining room which was simply gorgeous. The sofas converted into sofa-beds and were ok comfort wise. There was DVD and TV with BBC and ITV etc. The living room opened out onto a patio area and then on to the gardens. It is all on the same level and ideal for anyone with mobility issues. We spent most days on our sunbeds relaxing with only the sound of the birds. There is a lovely pool area with a bar which we rarely used. There is also a gym, heated indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. We ate in the Olive Tree Restaurant in the hotel and it was the best meal we had during our stay though there was not have a great kids menu. If you want comfort, cleanliness, peace and relaxation then this is the place.
Chose this hotel as it was away from the busy town etc. Got exactly what I wanted. It was lovely and quiet the pool had at most 10 people at it at one time. Pool was quite cold but you quickly got used to it.
Only issue I'd have is at lunch time. Only lunch available was at the club house. Which was fine as it was a short walk. However the menu needs to be improved. I didn't go to Portugal to eat chicken tikka masala and fish and chips every day. The option of fresh fish, vegetables and rice should always be available and not a once a week special.
Dinner is a buffet of €25 each. It's very well done and a lovely selection of food with good service.
Breakfast was the usual with the chef there to cook omelettes as requested.
At the end of my stay there was a very large group of men. Possibly a stag. They were allowed to take the conference room which is beside the games room. They were so loud on multiple nights I went back to my room to have some peace.
Overall was a good place to stay in October. If you want somewhere you can walk to the beach or the shops this is not the place for you. Ideal for peace away from the city and obviously if you enjoy golf.
On the whole a good hotel. It's a 5 star resort but just to mention that the outside pool was very cold (indoor pool was warm though), breakfast was fine but not much variety day in day out & the beauty spa was very limited. The hotel is up a very steep hill quite a way out above Carvoeiro. There is a shuttle bus into the village which returns about 6pm at the latest. A hire car offers the best flexibility. We would recommend a visit to Silves (Moorish castle), Monchique (day trip to mountains), beaches eg Dona Ana, Albufeira and the lighthouse near Sagres (best sunset). Our 12 yr old liked Slide n Splash waterpark but thought Zoo Marine would be better for younger kids (not cheap €29). We were disappointed with Portimao as the old BBQ sardine restaurants have been moved to a not v nice area. We thought the restaurants in Carvoeiro were a bit pricey & preferred nearby Ferragudo. Beware the midges! We had an early morning return flight & the hotel kindly made us a packed lunch to take to the airport. Any request was always promptly dealt with.
We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights, the hotel is very nice. There are lots of things to do like playing golf, swimming, sun bathing, tennis, football, table tennis etc. There are three restaurants but all are not open every day, good quality and enormous quantity of food is served. Staff very helpful.
this hotel is brilliant and we couldn't find a fault with it. The rooms are very spacious, bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast great , spa well worth a visit with daily specials at very reasonable rate. Staff very attentive and on the ball.
Outside area and pool are in tip top condition, this hotel is only open 4 years so everything is very modern. Our trip was also enhanced by wonderful weather. Will be back.!
