Easy to reach from airport, a modern, light hotel in a newly renovated building. Helpful staff arrange and recommend. Perfect position for old town, enabling late night visit (we arrived at 22 hours) - which we recommend.
The hotel is in the old city, close to attractions and there is plenty of public transportation around. I liked the fact that it was quiet (it is inside a circular wall); the breakfast was excellent. The hotel people helped me get from the airport to the hotel late at night because my flight was very late; I emailed the hotel and received immediate replies to all my emails. I was also advised on how much to pay f I wanted to take a taxi on my own.
Everyone was well informed at the main desk; everyone speaks English, including the guardian, so it was easy to communicate.
It happened that it was chili at night and I asked if the room could be heated: I was immediately offered a heating device. The space inside the wall is clean, the grass is well mowed and pretty; in addition, one can have lunch and diner within the walls, in the same restaurant that offers breakfast (which is included in the hotel cost). There are tables/chairs to seat in the small park too. A beauty parlor is available for women in one of the buildings.
Rooms are very clean...the shower worked well; there are plenty of towels.
The internet worked also well...which does not happen in Cincinnati hotels, for instance!!!
And there is also a room refrigerator with various drinks and products. The laundry service is not expensive. I did not see an iron for ironing oneself. I had a plug adapter for my computer, so I don't know if the desk carries any.
I highly recommend this place!

Take walk, hike to the crosses and Castle, there was so much to see! Time was refreshing, low key and it was a joyful trip for learning about the significant historical and religious faction around the 1000 year history of Lithuania. Only 4 hours from the Baltic sea and thousands of acres of agriculture in between. A country with roots and great people that have a will to persevere and excel given limited financial resources.

The Hotel Conti was not my first choice, but I changed my booking and I am so glad that I did!
A top class hotel, in the Old Town, which is surrounded by buildings of - let's say "Character"........ ok, the surrounding area is a little shabby and run-down, but I did not feel at any time that this was not a safe area. In fact, I will go as far as saying that I felt perfectly fine here, and have felt more at ease in bigger cities.
The hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk from the central train station, which is 8mins by train from the Airport. That trip cost 2.5 Litas (in English that was 0.60p - The bus was somewhere similar, and a Taxi was £6.00) There is a supermarket and open market nearby, and a large Police Station too. So the area is busy but safe.
There was an initial mixup with the booking upon arrival; they had allocated me a twin room instead of a double. However the next morning as there were no doubles available, housekeeping rectified the problem with putting the beds together and placing a huge mattress on the bed - I am nearly 5'10" tall, and the bed was now wider than I am tall....!!
The room was comfortable, the bathroom was more than adequate, and the housekeeping staff wonderful..!!
Breakfast was sensible with fresh food, and was served between 7-10 daily. However, if you left it too late then you may be disappointed, as not all the dishes were replenished.
Overall, a great hotel and one I would be happy to stay at in the future.

I arrived early (12pm for a 2pm check-in), sweating from a long, hot walk from the central bus station. The receptionist was able to get me into a room at that instant. The restaurant was really good, too. This is a typical business hotel, but for a leisure traveler, it is a great value, located right downtown.
Lithuania had been experiencing a heat wave; the room was not air-conditioned (something Americans take for granted), but the room was cool overnight.
Loved it. As a single occupant of a room (I went with my brother, who had his own room), the room was smaller than I would have liked but it was adequate. I have stayed there before with my husband and the room size was perfect. The rooms were clean and the staff is fantastic. The breakfast has something for everyone. The location is great also, close to everything.
