"To explain all negative reviews, with common sense"
Pros: Location! it is one street off from Victoria station, this is good because it is close to everything and yet, without the traffic noise from the busy street.
Cons: Staffing, please do not expect that you will find helpful staff there, it is a family hotel, not a chain hotel like Hiltons, they don't have the system to deliver services. As long as you can accept this, and little patient to explain your needs, you are good.
Explanation on negative reviews:
1) TV not working: They use DTV, over the air, its a bit slow, sometimes need to turn off and wait and turn on, its the nature or the TV set
2) No Hot or cold water: I found its a bit strange, you first turn on the hot, then adjust the temperature by turning the other knob (presumably cold), if you just turn the "cold" knob, you get no water.
3) Leaking roof: maybe leaked before, but no dripping from the top, I guess they don't have time to repaint it, it just cosmetic.
4) Bad Wifi: yes, because their wifi is open without a password, everyone, even the neighbor can connect, so it became slow, and the signal is from the dining area, so some spot are week, I solved my problem by getting my personal router (airport express).
Yes, there are some cracked tiles, chipped window frame..etc, it is a >100 yrs old building, the way they keep it clean excellent, I even wondered how they can survive in such prime location. we stayed RM202, trust me, This hotel is not excellent, but certainly not bad !
