Lovely hotel in a great location with fab views over the harbour. Comfortable compact but perfectly formed well thought out rooms. The breakfast was fantastic - so much choice and great dim dum and Chinese options as well as an array of every breakfast item you could wish for. Lovely pool and garden, friendly staff - absolutely no complaints!
I stayed at The Pottinger for a quick overnight trip . Since I checked in so late the hotel staff gave me a free upgrade to Room 1803. Fabulous suite! The entire room was well appointed. Very big and beautiful bathroom. Luxury toiletries also. The staff was very helpful in reviewing a map with me to point out attractions. It is true that this hotel is walkable to the Airport Express station. However, unless you are traveling with small luggage, this may be a bit difficult. Majority of the walk is easy, but there will be a point when you have to face stairs. A cab ride really wasn't that expensive. 350-400 Hong Kong dollar. I think it is worth the price if you have a lot of luggage, arriving late, or facing inclement weather. When taking cab from airport, ask the taxi driver to call the hotel so that he is sure that he knows where they are located. There is area near the bay called "Stanley" that my driver took me to first. Luckily it was not terribly far from Stanley Street in Central. One more note about Airport Express, once at the station stop, there are many pedestrian walkways to navigate that may be confusing for a person just arriving to a new city. Noise: It is true that construction is ongoing adjacent to the hotel, but that seems to be the case in several areas in Hong Kong. Not sure if you can out run that. Personally, I did not find the construction noise to be that intrusive. The hotel has so many great points that I would not let that deter you from booking!
This is my first time in Hong Kong , I found this hotel through a website with great reviews .. I decided that I would celebrate my 37th birthday here in Hong Kong with my partner & my parents & my sister .. so I booked this hotel (2 rooms : superior gold & superior deluxe gold on 22nd floor) since early September to make sure that I had somewhere to stay (somewhere nice for me & my family !) during the trip ... and I just got back to Australia few days ago .. overall , this hotel gave me one of the best experience .. hotel staffs were nice & very helpful (the girl at check-in/out counter named Jeane (if I'm not wrong that's her name I think) was very helpful) .. good food up top at Ava restaurant .. great view .. and best location !! .. I will stay at this hotel again when I go back to Hong Kong , that's for sure ! :)
Excellent location in the heart of restaurants, cafes and bars. The staff (especially the concierge!) were extremely helpful. The room was clean, well appointed and larger than expected. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The staff stored our suitcases after checkout for the day so we could sight see, and then gave us access to the gym to shower and change before we left for the airport.
Arrived at the Hotel after a South Eastern Asian Cruise. Flew in from Singapore. There was some serious construction going on near the hotel so the grandeur of our arrival was somewhat diminished. However on turning into the hotel the view was magificent. The hotel looked very garnd and imposing. Our cab door was opened by a beturbaned Head Porter and we were ushered into reception.
The receptionist took our ID and tut tutted saying we should not be at reception here but on the 19th floor and she left her desk and led us to the 19th floor. Unbeknownst to me my wife had booked us in a "Club Level" room because she had read that all Club Level rooms had a view of the harbor. It turned out that Club Level had a full time Concierge and a Club Room Lounge where there was Free booze and snacks fro 5pm until 8pm each evening and free breakfast in the morning. We worked out that this facility saved us in excess of $60.00 per day and could have saved considerably more if we had consumed more wine. The staff were 100% friendly and helpful. The rooftop infinity pool was absolutely stunning. This was one of the most pleasurable hotel stays in my considerable experience. I reccomend it to all. It is not a budget hotel but wort every penny.
