we have just stayed two nights in the hotel. Overall I think it is worth the money.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They explained everything very clearly and even told us that there was a short cut to Ubud central which would took only twenty minutes. The hotel also provides free bicycles for hiking. The room facilities are new and up to the standard of a 4.5-star hotel. The breakfast is also adequate. In particuar, the BBQ pork is not very salty, unlike that in other hotels in Bali.
As it is surrounded by trees and fields, mosquitos are unavoidable. However, if you are caucious and always remember to close the doors, it is not a problem.
As we went there in a low season, there are few customers. therefore, we felt the hotel was quite exclusive.
recommend to those who would like to stay in Ubud and would rent a car for other activities, such as white water rafting and sight seeing arround Ubud.
Alaya is very comfortable and quiet. If you are travelling with children the resort is not really suitable as the areas in the resort are designed for quiet times. My 8 year old daughter was very bored as pool was for relaxing not jumping, screaming having fun.
The pool down near the spa was amazing and well worth the experience. We also had time to embark on the nature walk which was informative and a great way to spend some time.
Overall this experience is one of the best I have had in all of my international travels.
A big thank you to the great staff who looked after us.

Set on a hillside and surrounded by ten hectares of tropical gardens, this resort is nearby to Ubud Village and the Ayung …More
This was my second stay at Ubud Village Resort and Spa and did not disappoint . From the moment you arrive the staff are outstanding in making your stay special . It was our wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty , from our outdoor marble bath filled with flower petals and a delicious chocolate cake , complementary foot massage and back massage in the tranquil spa . You really don't want to leave the property it is so relaxing . Breakfast room overlooks the grass fields , you could be in the middle of the countryside not on the edge of bustling Ubud. Shuttle service takes you to Ubud centre every hour which we made use of , but taxis would be very cheap . We walked a couple of times. If you want to give yourself a treat you could not find a better place to stay , the little piece if paradise I said in my review three years ago has not lost it's appeal and is even more polished. Thank you for making our visit so special.
View from private deck/daybed absolutely AMAZING! This place and the staff are top notch. Pool bar a great place to unwind. Not a resort for the party seekers. Probably better not to bring the kids either as is more for relaxation
All the staffs are nice and friendly, great facilities, great breakfast. u also get free shuttle (8 seated car) to Ubud town every hour till 5pm, and free return shuttle as well. Very convenient. The hotel has great surrounding mountain views and rice fields views ( rice fields seen from the in house tree top spa house, but spa a little pricey). Our private pool doesn't have the valley or river view as per promoted photo ( rather the other side of our villa oversees the river and mountains, the pool view was blocked by large trees and plants, so not much view from there) , so make sure you double check with the hotel what view you get for your booking, each villa has slightly different views.
Overall, it was a great hotel, will come again perhaps at ordinary rooms next time.
"Beautiful hotel, walking distance to central Ubud"
This hotel is the oldest in Bali and it has kept its historical charm. It is brautifully situated on a hillside by a river, surrounded by forests, flowers and statues. You truly can relax just here for the week, having access to two outdoor pools and a spa that faces the river. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had our own private deck to sit outdoors, which was lovely. I would highly recommend this place!!!
