taormina is basically built on the side of a mountain - our room had a charming little balcony from which we had a panoramic view - all at once - of mount etna, smoking away every day, the med way down the mountain watching and listening to the waves rolling in, and the beautiful charming town of taormina to the right of the view - wow! when we arrived we realised parking had to be arranged - and mostly performed by - the staff, as space is very much at a premium, but we were greeted so warmly, and treated so charmingly, nothing was too much trouble. Our bags were taken to our room for us at their insistance, the room having a lovely double bed (2 quality mattresses put together) and what appeared to be antique furniture indiginous to the hotel.
this is a charming, excellent hotel in an absolutely stunning setting
The location, staff and accommodations were amazing. We stayed in the apartment in their annex because it was low season and ended up cancelling the last leg of our trip and stayed in Taormina at the Villa Belvedere. Fresh oranges and chocolates and a breathtaking view from the balcony. Loved it.
We stayed 5 nights and used Taormina as our central location for excursions. Taormina is more than charming, a town on a hill loaded with history that spans more than 2000 years. The hotel is next to a beautiful public garden, a 5 minute walk to the center of town and multitudes of shops and restaurants. Great historical sites are everywhere in town and in the surrounding area. The hotel staff was lovely and helpful, the room very clean and well appointed. The pool area is lovely with spectacular views. The breakfast buffet, which was included, was more than adequate with good food. Our room was not huge but a good size. We only spent the nights there as we were out all day. The hotel is off the beaten path even though it is so close to the center, so it is perfectly situated. I would definitely stay there again if we were to return.
The Taormina Park was a great choice for our stay. It is in a superb location, on the outskirts of town so tranquil but within a 5 minute walk to the the bustling centre. The beautiful public gardens are just across the road, restaurants are a couple of minutes away and the bus station and cable car a short walk.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful and went out of the way to make us welcome and enhance our stay. The pool and surrounding terraces where breakfast is served are fantastic. We paid for a sea or Etna view and were rewarded with a second floor terrace with stunning views of both.
We had a wonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend the hotel and Taormina to others.
Before we booked we asked, are the photos really what we are to expect and we were reassured that they were. On arriving however we were given the ground floor apartment - lovely but no view. The manager was really friendly & helpful though and moved us up a floor as soon as one became available and we enjoyed a lovely studio apartment with fabulous views across the sea. I wonder though if in the height of a busy season would this have been possible.
The hotel is outside of the town Taormina so a car is useful to get into town etc. The area was ideal for us as it was quiet (maybe out of season still?) but there is a train track just behind the hotel which is noisy and could be disturbing to some. We also enjoyed the beach being only a few steps from the hotel. We had a lovely stay, it was comfortable and clean and the manager was attentive. We would stay there again.
The hotel is ideally situated for visiting Taormina as the cable car is a five-minute walk away. Parking is awkward as the hotel has a limited number of spaces available at what seemed to be a fairly expensive rate. Other than that, parking is on the road side in the Sicilian manner! The rooms were clean and comfortable but small for a four star hotel. The pool area was clean with plenty of sunbeds but pool-side towels are not provided.
