An enjoyable two night stay in this "urban resort" hotel. Facilities are great although some of the carpets in communal areas were starting to look a bit grubby. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and the service was really excellent. We were offered an upgrade to a suite for the first night and then went back to standard for our second night. The previous weekend we'd spent one night in an upper deck room and it's that experience of staying in three grades of room that prompts me to make a comment about the bathrooms. The size of bath in each of the three grades of rooms is identical with a shower over the bathtub. We'd have liked to have the luxury of being able to share a bath or even a shower but in each grade of room space was tight. The higher grade rooms are certainly bigger and have a few touches of luxury but the extra space could have enhanced the rather cramped bathrooms rather than the living areas. The rooms we stayed in were spacious, the beds comfy, the decor smart and the suite room had a lovely balcony. Staff kindly moved our luggage to the standard room for our second night. The restaurant, pub and coffee shop staff all provided a memorably polite and efficient service and all seemed happy to be there. Food was both tasty and well presented. Staff at breakfast and checkout on our final morning were really stretched with a number of large parties but were able to deal effectively with all that was thrown at them. Pity about the bathrooms.
This hotel is well-placed for access to all routes to North and South Cotswolds, An excellent breakfast buffet, and good value dining rates. First class staff - polite and courteous - who dealt competently with our complaint with Expedia.
Lovely hotel with friendly staff. The room was very spacious and clean with excellent tea and coffee facilities. The pool, spa and gym were excellent and very much welcomed after a long day driving. Complimentary toiletries were of good quality with plenty of clean towels. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Great wee find, very friendly and helpful staff and a great large room with ensuite. Fabulous value for what we paid but for some reason despite being on the edge of Swindon this place lacks confidence and is only a deep clean away from acheiving the prices it should be achieving for rooms. We had great comfie and clean beds, but the carpet was either done or required a good fax. A minimal bit of fresh paint would cure what was a good modern and well fitted room. So basically get your act together, sort some minor issues and get the room price up to where it should be.
We arrived around 3 o'clock and went to the bar where we signed in and were shown to an excellent courtyard room which was very pretty and large and comfortable. The ensuite was very clean and well appointed and the bedroom was comfortable with a king sized bed, other seating, TV and tea/coffee available. The bed itself was extremely comfortable. We thought the room would be noisy as it was in the main courtyard housing the microbrewery and pretty gardens for pub guests but it was not.
Essentially a very nice hotel with pleasant staff. Reception facilities are a little odd being in a sort of cupboard but bar, lobby and restaurant were very pleasant. Decoration was to a very high standard only a few minor issues that stopped me giving an excellent. A couple of light bulbs were out in the room and bathroom and the sealant on the side of the bath needed to be renewed. High Noon had internet but it wouldn't connect in fact it was difficult to get WiFi anywhere in the hotel despite ther being a strong signal. Evening meal was of a high standard but I don't like eating steak off a chopping board and the portions were a tad small for me. Had to wait for the chef to come in, in the morning between 7:30 and 7:45 so getting breakfast before an early start at work is a little risky although well worth waiting for. All in all though very good value for money.
