Staff were very helpful when myself and my friend asked them questions. Nice bar area to relax in and a good singer/pianists on some evenings. Breakfast was a good selection of cooked food, cereals and fruit. Modern and clean rooms.
This was a lovely riad in the medina near to the World Heritage site of Kasbah of the Udalayas.
The owner was truly fantastic. I gave the hotel facility/condition a 4, which was hard to do, but necessary. There were massive rains all day which lead to leaks in two rooms- mine and the one that we were also offered. The rains caused an electrical outage in our room- which was promptly fixed (at 12am) but it meant that we then had no lights in the bathroom.
Unfortunately the other room had a worse leak. Neither of which could be attributed to the owner, who like I said was great in finding the best possible solution.
He was great in helping us out and talking with us in the morning. He did go above what was expected and we did receive a discount for our discomfort which was also much appreciated.
"The service, decor, dining, grounds were excellent"
The staff were all courteous and helpful. The grounds of the facility and the decor of the rooms and common facilities were outstanding. The dining room provided gourmet meals at reasonable cost. We stayed two nights at the beginning of our trip and one before flying home. After our first two nights we would not think of staying anywhere else in Rabat.

Noise of music from disco in1st floor won't let you sleep.
Although I was on 3rd floor, I couldn't tolerate the high sound music up to 4 am.

in short sentence,
Avoid staying in this hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay at this riad, it easily was our favorite when we visited Morocco a couple weeks ago. Our beautiful room upstairs was clean, quiet and comfortable, and we loved the styling of the bedroom and bathroom. The courtyard was beautiful (as was the terrace, though it wasn't fully set-up being early March) and they served a wonderful breakfast every morning. Additionally the staff was very helpful. Just as an FYI, you can't drive right up to the riad (you'll need to walk a couple blocks from the nearest taxi stand), and there is a small additional fee if you pay with a credit card versus cash. Nothing major, and I would absolutely recommend Riad Kalaa.

This hotel is the closest you'll get to a true Moroccan styled building. You get the feeling you're living with a sultan in his home. The staff are great. It does not have many services like a restaurant or admin services but it's sister hotel just a few yards away does. This hotel is a quiet base to live in while you explore other restaurants and experiences. The great thing is that it is located inside the Medina, so you feel like you're living in the past. Overall, this is a great hotel to live in if you're planning to walk around and experience the many great options in the area.
