Reception staff were excellent esp when my partner left his bag in the taxi. The staff managed to track down the driver and returned the bag. Hotel sent a bottle of bubbly and choc to our room as it was my partners birthday. Nice gesture. The breakfast was excellent. There was some renovation taking place in some of the rooms. This started at 10am finished at 6pm. We were informed by the reception staff at the time of booking. There were no issues when we were there. The 17th floor has a resturant with panoramic views of the city. The room was very clean. The gym was tiny. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station and major square were you can access buses, trams and various restaurants. Our stay was for 4nights. It cost us 20euros to get taxi to the hotel. However we got the train to the airport and it cost us 2.40euros each. All said I would definitely recommend this hotel from our experiences.
The hotel is just in very center of the city easy to walk to almost all interesting places in old town. Although it dose not have a car park, but the staff helped me to park the car in a 2 minutes-walk public parking that is secure. Room was clean, comfortable. The staff was very nice and gave a room with a good view. It is supper for the price.
Great place to stay in a good location. Modern, clean and with a wonderful food hall attached. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Comfortable bed, quiet room, slept like a log. My only gripe is that there were no coffee/tea making facilities in the room but to be fair the staff did offer to bring up a pot of hot water whenever I wanted it. I have already recommended the hotel to my daughter for her visit and I would definitely stay there again.
The staff members were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were tasty with a wide variety of food choices. This was a rest stop for us after a lengthy airline flight and prior to boarding a riverboat cruise; It suited our needs perfectly.
The 2ladies working at the reception (day &night) were EXCELLENT in providing information and all kind of services they deserve 5 stars.also great location to visit Porto.thank you to all personal for the excellent service.I would recommend that hotel to all.

We spent 2 days in Porto and chose to stay at Vila Gale hotel. We were very satisfied with the amenities of this establishment. It was close to the Metro, buses, and several tourist attractions. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were quite comfortable. We had to pay for Wi-Fi in our rooms. So we declined this and instead used the free wifi in the lobby.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Porto
From the very start, upon arrival, we were able to feel completely relaxed about this hotel, and Paulo on Reception did everything he could to ensure that we chose a suitable room. We usually like to have a sea view or river view where there is one, and to that end I had contacted the hotel in advance to explore the possibilities of having the latter. On arrival Paulo took us to see three rooms, one with a river view, a suite with same, and the room we had booked via Expedia. We opted for the originally booked room in view of the reduced size of a river view ordinary room, and the extra cost involved in having that facility in a suite.
From that point on, with one very minor exception, the staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful, and made our stay very enjoyable.
