This is our second visit to Alexander The Great Hotel in Paphos and we haven't been disappointed .the back of the hotel overlooks a fantastic pool and beyond that the Meditteranean Sea . There is a sandy municipal beach with steps access from the grounds . Sun beds are allocated for your room . You can choose where you want to be and change anytime you want .
Lots of peaceful seating areas in and out .The pool bar and other bars are well run and staff always pleasant . There is a buffet breakfast to suit everyone
All communal areas spotlessly clean as well as bedrooms .
There is entertainment daily and nighttime in Alexander's Bar .
You will get a quieter room if you go for pool or sea view . However we were at the front this time and weren't bothered with traffic noise
The Kaniko Management Team are so good and will ensure you have a good stay .
I chose this hotel after reading many reviews, so unlike a few of the other guests we were not disappointed that there was no entertainment and it was very quiet. We liked the spaciousness of the room, the sea view was amazing, the kitchen area was excellent, with full size fridge/freezer, induction cooker, washing machine and dishwasher and we had two balconies. The food was good with plenty of choices and a good selection of fresh fruit. I had read that there was a distinct lack of fresh fruit on some of the reviews, but this was not the case for us. I did notice however that many of the guests took 4 or 5 pieces of the fruit with them when they left the dining room, so maybe that would explain why there seemed to have been a shortage. There were also comments that the waiting staff didn't smile much but they were very efficient and we found that if we met them outside of the dining room they were friendly enough and again like everyone else, we found Maria in the bar extremely friendly. Our room was cleaned every day except Sunday with towels changed very day and sheets every 2nd day and the cleaners were lovely. All in all we had a lovely holiday and would certainly return. Parts of the hotel would benefit from some TLC but the only negative points for us are detailed below.
Just stayed for 6 nights, the welcoming receptionist was lovely and very helpful.
The hotel is clean and spacious.
It is about a 15 minute walk from the centre, but there is a shop, off licence, bars, and places to eat across the road.
It has great views, and is right on the beach.
A great place to stay.
You pays your money & takes your choice. For a one nighter in Paphos it was good value, 4 of us stayed in two rooms which were comfortable, clean, breakfast was OK too, but the croissants were older than me & I'm retired. They could have broken the tiles if you dropped one. That said the rest of the breakfast was far better than expected.. Will us again when we go down that side of the island.

Suited my freinds and I as there were 3 of us with we had a 2 bed Apartment which with the lounge meant that we had a bedroom each.Went all inclusive but the whole place is not all inclusive which meant that the bar was not used during the evening so we went out every night.
We only went for Bed and Breakfast. The Breakfast was wonderful every day. Can't comment on any of the other food. Didn't buy anything at the hotel as all shops, restaurants and supermarket are just around the corner and will always be cheaper than hotel prices.
Lovely pool and spacious gardens if you didn't want to sunbathe near the pool.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Didn't think Pathos itself was attractive apart from the harbour area. However we had great weather and hired a car to explore so thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We really had a nice time staying in this place.Apartment was really good, we had there everything we need it. People were very friendly and helpful. We went to Cyprus for the first time and we loved it. Such a beautiful place to go. Lots of things to see. You can get lost in mythology following Aphrodite steps, walk around archaeological park in Paphos (Thumbs of Kings ,amazing mosaics )Hike in the mountains ,spend lazy days on the beach. If you have a chance try to go to Nicosia It is a very interesting place to see but completely different then the rest of Greeks Cyprus (but remember to have your ID if you want go to the Turkish side)And the food!!!!Lots of tavern with amazing food.
