"Comfortable stay close to Oxford city centre"
A generally decent, clean hotel close to the city center - reachable by the number 6 bus close to the hotel vicinity (about 15 min bus ride, bus arriving approx every 20mins). Basic services, but not quite 4 star.. room lacked basic amenities such as a mini fridge and was stingy with the shampoo/body wash (did not refresh despite that there was 1/3 of product left in each mini bottle). Was disappointed that we were not offered breakfast despite paying £87/night. Staff was generally pleasant but did not go out of their way to make our stay more pleasant (I was very thirsty upon check in and was told that they would send water to my room - but this was never received). Room was in fairly good condition and quiet as we specifically asked for a quiet room.

"Decent, pleasant hotel"
I stayed here for five nights for a business trip. I found it to be a convenient, comfortable location and with decent amenities. There is a quick path to the Thames River Walk, which provided a few miles of walking, running, and people watching. This also provided an easy way to get to the town center. You could the mile or so to the center by way of the sidewalk or you can go to the river path and avoid a bit of the traffic. I found the breakfast to be good and was very pleased they served small pots of coffee (I am American). I would have wished it opened a bit earlier but I am an early riser. I wished I could have had a mini-refrigerator in my room so I could have stocked up on a few things for my lunches. I also wished the gym/fitness room was open longer hours. But I would definitely go back here in the future.

Old Bank Hotel

"The Essence of Oxford"
Getting to the Old Bank by private car is a bit of a challenge because of certain street closures during daylight hours, but well worth the likely misstep on first try to find the hotel's private parking. The hotel staff of many ethnicities all go out of their way to serve their guests. Both public areas and sleeping quarters are filled with original art. The outdoor dining area at the rear of the property is charming. The location of the hotel on High Street is unequaled for sightseeing by foot. Free 24 hour self-serve espresso or tea in the "library" is a real treat. One of the nicest amenities of the hotel is the 90 minute free tour of the immediate area by a knowledgable "resident" tour guide.

"A hotel with a difference"
The unique location is well worth a visit, interesting and historic, but with all mod Cons. The location is perfect for exploring Oxford, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and nicely presented. Rooms are comfortable , bathroom very good. Worth a visit if you can get a bargain deal, but otherwise a little over priced.

Spent a week in Oxford for business. The Old Parsonage was a terrific find. The hotel was recently renovated, with stylish and comfortable rooms. The restaurant is cozy and the food is excellent. To top it off, the hotel has a remarkable collection of paintings.

"A weekend in Oxford"
Super position right on the river and a few minutes walk away from the City centre and all those Colleges. Nicely furnished and decorated room; lots of space for two with a comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast with an imaginative choice of dishes. However; No teapots! why can't I have a teapot in the middle of England? The serving staff were not English so I got hot water with a teabag on the side. Oxford, England, a Pub/Hotel by the Thames and a rotten cup of TEA! Come on! Its not hard. Not the only problem with overseas staff. When guests arrive the reception is actually the Pub Bar. No signs to indicate where to register and no indication who is the receptionist and who are the bar staff. I was asked "Chicken?" which led to a short period of misunderstanding. Turned out she didn't have enough English to put a sentence together and "Chicken?" was "Check in". Not a good start. Finally got there but why put someone on Reception in England who's English isn't up to the job? In France and Spain the receptionists can speak English; why not in England? There was a bottle of beer and two bottles of water in the room but no indication if they were complimentary or to be paid for and no bottle opener of glass was provided.

"Visiting my daughter at uni"
A very nice hotel. Excellent location, We were visiting our daughter on her summer ball day and had a great view of her college Balliol. Our room was on the top floor and was very clean and spacious. It's definitely not for people with mobility problems as there are lots of winding stairs. The only down side was our booking stated full breakfast but the hotel tried to charge us extra as they said they had changed their policy from 1st April 2015 I would check in advance they blamed Expedia for the mistake !!!!
