Really nice stay in The NewYorker Hotel. We were greeted by Mohammed and he was really nice and very easy to deal with. He upgraded out room to the 32nd floor where we had a beautiful view of the Empire State Building.
Having stayed at another CitizenM several times I knew what to expect in terms of the room & people... Modern, compact (not in a bad way) with a comfy bed, free wifi, a great shower and very friendly staff.
All these were there at the Times Square CitizenM with the added bonus of being in the heart of New York City right next to both the red & blue lines of the Subway. The lobby, bar area and 21st floor skybar were all excellent with random items of bizarreness dotted around all adding to the feel of a young, vibrant place to stay.
Upsides are the staff who were universally friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a good breakfast selection for a very reasonable $16 if you book this when you check in ($19 otherwise) and food / drink seemed to be available pretty much 24 hours a day. One recommendation is the Boston Brewery IPA on tap in the lobby bar.
Tiny downside if you are inclined is that the rooms let in street noise to a degree (we were on the 9th floor) but you are in the middle of a massive, busy, amazing, police car infested city. No noise from other rooms or neighbours .... Be aware that New York is a busy place and take some earplugs if you get bothered.
For people with technofear, be aware the room is controlled via a tablet and you can find yourself in the dark or bathed in the glow of a red-lit toilet but for me this all adds to the fun of the place. Overall CitizenM NYC was great and I'd recommend it to others.
My wife and I visited New York for the first time to see the attractions and do some shopping. This hotel was ideally located for our needs. When Diana at reception found out that it was our first trip to NY, she upgraded our room which made a tremendously difference to our 3-night stay. The room was modern, spacious and clean. Thanks to Diana, we will always have fond memories of our first NY trip.
This was a wonderful hotel to stay at. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and our room was clean and roomy, along with a gorgeous view of Times Square. The location was perfect because it was walking distance to so many restaurants and activities. I will definitely be returning.
We were pleasantly surprised by our Yotel experience. It has a very Euro feel. Clean, crisp lines. Simple. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Love the funkiness of everything. We had a great view of the river from our room (the bathroom actually - the whole room was airy and light!). The hotel was quiet (from outside noise AND inside noise). It says "Times Square" but it's really about 3 blocks away - which is perfect! You get out of the crazy hustle and bustle of the tourists. Super close to everything. Would stay here again!

Yotel is a first class hotel experience at an affordable price. Check in is all about efficiency. We have Kiosks that are …More
I stayed here on two separate occasions and I couldn't be more pleased. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my hectic schedule and extreme requests in regards to organizing meeting rooms.
The suites are fantastic and comfortable and very clean.
I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family and I'm looking forward to staying here again.
Thanks Paramount Staff!
Hotel is only a few blocks from Penn Station, maybe 10 minute walk, and despite arriving well before check in time we were shown straight to our room. We had booked a room with 2 double beds so the room was a good size though the bathroom was rather compact. Good quality bedding and towels, mini bar in room with room to store your own bottles of water, juice, efficient heating or rather it was once we sussed out the controls, dressing gowns, and my personal favourite complementary Molton Brown toiletries.
Leaving the hotel and at the end of the street you are on 5th Ave with the Empire State in front of you. Great location, easily reached from the airport (we flew into Newark so direct train to Penn Station), and conveniently placed for all mid town attractions. Complimentary tea and cafe available 24-7. We didn't dine in as there is so much choice in the city, plus there is a cafe/deli at the end of the street, Bread & Butter, which seemed to never close and where you can dine in or carry out and they sell hot and cold food so really handy.
Would definitely consider staying here again if ever back in NYC.
