"Great hotel, beautiful view, great amenities"
Restaurant food and service was excellent! The staff was helpful friendly and above par. Pool, spa, and rooms couldn't have been more perfect. Highly recommend to anyone for a affordable luxury boutique hotel. The shrimp tacos are to die for.

"Paradise"
This is a very unique property. It's remote and very quiet. It's a beautiful setting. I have been going there for 10 years. The golf course is in the best shape it's ever been in. It looks like they have really sunk some money into the course just in the last 12 months. There is no traffic, no noise, no beach vendors, just piece and quiet. The staff is extremely accomodating. They don't seem to know how to say no to anything. The new hotel is very nice and extremely well maitained. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. They have new shuttle vans for the airport and trips into Mazatlan. They need major work in the kitchen. The food was horrible. They have a new Food & Beverage Manager. I couldn't tell if he hadn't been there long enough to fix the problem or if he was the culprit. I stayed there a year ago and the food was great. Not the case anymore. The chef could over cook anything and did regularly. He over cooked the Tuna, the Ribeye and the Chicken. He got the Caprese Salad just right.

"Nice Place, Mostly Laid Back"
It was all in all a good experience. This hotel is far from any activities so bring your cab budget. It's like 100 ($7.50 USD) pesos to the Golden Zone. I found that much of Mazatlán is Spanish speaking only. My experiences in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Playa Del Carmen, and Cancun had many more folks who were bilingual. Shame on me for not being but for a tourist town I'd expected a bit less trouble communicating with hotel staff. We were there for 6 nights and only had two real issues during the stay. The first was that they were replacing pool deck tiles with a hammer, chisel, and sometimes a jackhammer. This noise was unbearable, especially bright and early in the morning. A brief question to the head maintenance guy and the noise was limited to afternoon hours and stopped completely over the weekend. Gracias! The next was Sunday night when there were many local guests and everyone had a boombox and/or too much to drink making for loud voices. That quieted down about 11pm but 15m later, the Karaoke started up in the room above ours. They ran until about 3am. That was a bit tough. The final thing was that the pool could have been operated better. It was one of those 'zero edge' pools that requires water to spill over the edge to be automatically skimmed. The water level was too low so it wasn't being skimmed and after busy days there was a float of debris including body and tanning oils on the surface.

"And away we go!"
Truly a hidden gem in the middle of paradise this little cottage or bed and breakfast or small hotel or just bit of happiness is located in emerald bay away from all the noise and traffic which in its self is not as bad as it sounds. You have to drive down a rocky dirt road to get to the resort so don't turn around like I did. Once we arrived we were greeted by our host who was genuinely kind as well as the staff and the rest of the family. Our accommodations were small but accommodated our needs throughout our stay. The grounds are immaculate and very well maintained. Breakfast was very nice with fresh fruits and yogurt with cereal and a hot food option. The resort has only a couple of rooms so it stays quiet and peaceful around the pool and outside the remodeled gate leading to the beach. We rented a car so we had access to gas and shopping and to all the different place to see and visit. Can't say enough nice things about are host can't wait to go back.
