Departing on grey cold December day we arrived at 1.00am after a 4 hour flight delay. Reception were very welcoming directing us to our room. Our party consisted of 7 3 adults 2 seniors and 2 teenagers. The hotel has only studios or 1 bed apartments and we had a total of 2, 1 bed apartments. Being on half board we did not use the self catering aspect which comprising 2 electric rings and amicrowave oven would be adequate to compose a simple meal. Food is OK as much as you want with a variety to suit most tastes. The hotel is close to Nissi beach andthere is a coastal footpath which winds to the harbour at Ayai Napa. The gym is well equipped. The inside (heated pool) is too cold for our tastes. The only downside to the holiday was that 1 adult and the 2 seniors contracted a nasty tummy bug on their last day which caused them some distress. The hotel is in quiet location, has free onsite parking and has free wi-fi in the comfortable lobby. Temperatures were 18-20 centigrade during but dropping at night. we were fortunate with weather.
My business host recommended three hotels for me to choose from and I selected Lordos Beach Hotel based on reviews. It proved a good choice, not too far from Larnaca airport (€25 taxi ride), and good facilities.
We stayed in Princess Beach Hotel in April 2014. We had a lovely and restful time. We went just to unwind and had business in Nicosia for a couple of days. We close to stay in Larnaca.
It was the beginning of the season and each day something new was improved around the hotel; new beach chair cushions, new activities and things to do for children. Staff at the desk are very helpful and prompt. They will book cabs for you if you want to travel around.
Rooms: The rooms were plain but looked recently spruced up. They were perfect for a simple beach holiday. The bathroom was very clean and new looking and cleaning staff great. The rooms are well maintained. Our TV needed retuning but maintenance guy came straight away. Management were interested in guest opinions and even hosted an evening to host drinks with the managers. The staff are five star in my opinion.
Food: There is an all inclusive and half board option. Breakfasts were average with the cooked brekkie and cereal or continental options. There were food theme nights such as: Tex Mex, Asian, Cypriot (my favourite), BBQ...desserts my favourite the cheesecake -wow. Lots of fruit and salad for the health conscious.
Grounds: There is a large banquet hall and gift shop.
Beware WiFi and safe key are chargeable this is a bit cheeky as most hotels charges a deposit for key or safe is free and WiFi cafes are everywhere so not sure why they charge.
I stayed at the Napa Mermaid for 3 nights and 4 days. One of the best hotel stays that I can remember. The room was amazing (had the sea facing suite on the 4th floor). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. The hotel had great amenities, like Spa, pools, services etc. Had an amazing massage in the spa as well. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

"A wonderful holiday at the Eveleos Country House"
We had a wonderful stay at the Eveleos Country House hotel. The directions from the airport were easy to follow and we arrived at the beautiful village of Tochni. We stayed in a lovely apartment with private terrace and small pool that we had to ourselves most of the time. The owner had left us some bread, water, eggs and milk which was a really thoughtful gesture. We also had pastries left one evening and on our last night we were treated to Brandy Sours on the terrace - a typical Cypriot drink.
The location was great for seeing the whole of the island and we went hiking in the mountains a number of times and also went up to the Avakas Gorge and Lara Beach which was a lovely day. Our favourite walks were the the Caledonia falls which goes out of Platres and the Madari Mountain trail which is just near Spilia.
We had dinner in the local taverna in Tochni village square which was great value and tasty food.
Overall it was a great stay in a lovely place.
On arrival we were welcomed with a glass of orange juice and a refreshing flannel .
In the room was a complimentary bottle of wine and bowl of fruit- lovely!
We stayed in a sea view room on the second floor. The large floor to ceiling patio doors gave us an uninterrupted view of the gardens and out to the beach. We sat on the balcony watching the sun set most evenings. The breakfast buffet catered for all tastes and was always well stocked. You could dine inside or out on their shaded patio. Smokers had to dine in a specific area outside so you could sit away from them if you wanted to. We had one evening meal - Italian buffet - 20 euros each; which was very good.
There was entertainment every evening,
All the staff were friendly and helpful.
We booked a late check out, 6pm, for an extra 50 euros; although we were offered until 2:30pm for free.
The bars- beach, pool and hotel, were well staffed and served hot and cold food.
The outdoor pool and beach had plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, (5 euros for 2 beds and an umbrella).
Opposite the hotel is a variety of restaurants and bars, most were open every evening.
We dined at The Gardens Restaurant for 2 evenings, excellent.
The grounds of the hotel were home to many cats and kittens- they do not really bother you and spend most of the time hiding in the shade.
The only negative was with some of the guests who would feed the cats from their breakfast table with food off the buffet!
A very large resort, at the edge of a rural village with no shops around and no restaurant on the premises.
The resort was empty, almost no guests, no front desk and no manager, the only stuff on duty was the cleaning lady.
The rooms are large and newly painted.
You need a car in order to get there.
