We only stayed for one night in Kobe, we chose this hotel because the price was very reasonable for a large room and a bit of luxury (something we thought would be lacking from our other hotels in Japan).
We arrived early, but our room was ready and we were told we'd been upgraded to a room on the 26th floor. (we had booked a room between the 16th and 21st floor).
We had the most incredible view of Kobe harbour and returned after a meal out with a bottle of wine just to sit and admire the city.
The hotel is walking distance to the city centre and we had no problem walking round to see everything we wanted. Kobe ropeway is fantastic, it's right next to Shin-Kobe station and gives a fantastic view and was a highlight of our entire holiday. The hotel itself is easy to get to - we used the loop bus from Shin-Kobe station, alighting at a stop right next to the hotel, but there's also a subway station very close.

I have stayed here three times now and continue to be impressed. If you want to visit Kyoto and have a rail pass, consider staying here for far less than the Kyoto hotels and take the Shinkansen into Kyoto in about 30 min.

We stayed for 7 nights and found the hotel very comfortable and the views and location great. The design of the hotel on the "Merikan" wharf affords every room a view of Kobe Port, either to the east or west. We enjoyed the bit of luxury, with the room rates booked through Expedia surprisingly good value for the star rating of the hotel. The cost of the restaurants and other facilities at the hotel was more comparable with peer hotels, but we were pleased to eat out most of the time. The rooms were great, our only complaint being that shelf or drawer storage space was very limited - not bad for one to two night stays but we would have liked to unpack more for our full week stay. The courtesy bus to Sannomiya (shared with the nearby but significantly more expensive Okurayama Hotel); we were lucky that our arrival and departure by Shinkansen happened to be on Sundays when the courtesy bus also runs to Shin-Kobe station (which it does only on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays - not sure why it doesn't do so on weekdays).

The Japanese style room is more than I expected, breathtaking view, very clean and comfortable.
The hotel has bus that pick up guest front he train station every 15 min, so please don’t take taxi like I did.
Breakfast buffet is more like Japanese style but everything taste great.
The front desk only understands basic English.
You have to pay extra to get in the hotel’s hot spring, it’s not included in the room.
They also provide in room message which is great.
If you want in room dinner you need to reserve early, can’t order on the day you arrive. But the hotel also has many good restaurants.
Overall very satisfied.

Arrived to find an innocent looking and rather small
Little lobby off the street....until we were told the lobby is actually on the 17th floor.
Once you step off the elevator, you will be greeted by a wall of glass overlooking Kobe Harbour.
And our stay was just as spectacular all the way including the food.
Only small complaint was the spotty wifi..... But we didn't care. The rooms were
Simply perfect and the staff was attentive.
I'd put this hotel in a class by itself. Not too small of a boutique hotel but not
The too big to be unfriendly and cold.
Great place. 5-stars
A fine hotel, situated just a little bit out of from Kobe, but close to the rail services via nearby "liner" train.
No real department store shopping around, half an hour away but a number of restaurants including the hotels fine dining and great views from the 21st floor restaurant. Staff service was excellent.
We would stay here again.
