Despite its popularity as a skiing retreat for England's royal family, Klosters retains an alpine village atmosphere around its key areas: Platz and Dorf. Its small Platz, or center, offers dining and drinking at various après-ski venues, and a cable car that runs to the larger city of Davos. Less than 2 miles north, the Dorf offers even more quiet, as well as the gondola to skiing at Madrisa.
