"Nice enough. Brilliant location."
Great if you want somewhere nice to stay for cheap right in the center. Huge bed which was nice. Generally looks a bit tired all around the edges, other than the bathroom which looked newer but had an odd smell. The breakfast is very nice and you have lots of choice. Friendly staff. It's pretty much as you imagine it to be for the price. I'd recommend it to anyone who is making a late booking and needs to be centrally located. Did the job for me perfectly.

"A quiet retreat "
Although the hotel is a bit off the beaten path, it is quiet and has ample parking. TIP: be sure to put the postal code of the hotel into your GPS, which will make finding it much easier. Luckily, Inverness has lots of signage for its hotels. The surroundings of the hotel are not lush, but the rooms are simple and comfortable. We had a fine dinner there, although proportions were a bit small.

"Quiet peaceful hotel on the Ness Bank"
Central, quiet, peaceful, boutique townhouse on Ness Bank. It is within walking distance of all buses, trains and restaurants/bars. Beautiful leafy walk up to the hotel past Inverness Castle and a welcome refuge from the day's walking and hiking. Great hot power shower and a nice bar and breakfast room.

This was a night out localy toto celebrate our tenth anniversary. We had one of the recently opened Garden Rooms. Luxurious room with its own small garden terrace. Bed was extremely comfortable and we slept soundly all night. Buffet breakfast was very high quality and plentiful.

"Wonderful service"
The best service I have ever received at a UK hotel, consistent across all staff and services, exceptional. Some facilities could do with a facelift, but a lovely place to stay.

"Experiencing a little piece of history"
I chose the Culloden House Hotel for three nights because I wanted to 1) stay outside of noise of Inverness, but close enough to drive into the city and 2) stay in a historical building. CHH achieved both these goals for me. The area around the hotel is interesting, and like all of the highlands, beautiful. The hotel has plenty of off-street parking. The interior features a few public rooms such as the relaxing lounge area, which is amply furnished in seating groups of comfortable chairs and sofas. I was traveling alone for my trip, but I felt at ease because it seemed like all the staff knew me and treated me professionally, but in a friendly manner. My room was just about as far away from the hotel's main lobby as possible, which I like. It is spacious and decorated (perhaps a little too heavy-handed) to reflect the Scottish heritage of the area. One of the two mattresses was a little lumpy, so slept on the other one. The bathroom is large and includes a modern shower and tub. The hotel toiletries are L'Occitane. My room caught the afternoon sun so it would get a little too warm with the window closed in the afternoon, but keeping the window opened solved that issue. The breakfasts are CHH are very good. There is a wide selection of choice to suit even those people who are not that fond of breakfast (a condition I do not understand as I always eat a large breakfast). Most of the food comes from local sources, and is of excellent quality. The dining room staff are great.

"Beautiful view of Loch Ness"
While this hotel is located a little way from Inverness, it is located in the hills overlooking Loch Ness. From the outside it is a little dated, but once you get inside the rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food at the bar is good. Its location makes for quiet nights and it has incredible views of the Loch

Pocket Guide: Scottish Highlands Inverness 4 stars Hotels

Inverness is the most northerly city in the British Isles and lies in the heart of the vast Scottish Highlands. Ness Islands Walk takes visitors upstream from the city centre, where the cathedral and war memorial can be spotted on the approach to the small islands in the middle of the river. Inverness is a great base for exploring; the city is around 21 km from the shores of the renowned Loch Ness.
