Hendaye is the southwesternmost town in France, across the Bidassoa river from Irun, Spain. An Atlantic Ocean beach borders the town to the west, and the Pyrenees form a backdrop to the east. The town square hosts a weekly open-air market and is home to the 17th-century Great Cross of Hendaye, carved with astrological signs. A marina is situated in a bay at the Bidassoas mouth.
