Maldives hotels

Five of the atoll’s fifty islands are inhabited, offering budget through to deluxe-category resorts. Naifaru Island is famous for coral and mother-of-pearl crafts, while the remains of a 17th century mosque can be found on the island of Maafilaafushi. Highlights include the long drift dive “Kuredhoo Express”, and “Shipyard”, a demanding dive taking in two wrecks. Turtles, moray eels, nurse sharks, groper, and wrasse are frequent visitors. The atoll is 120 km north of the capital, Male.
